Our 4th floor condo, located in Cuenca's historic "El Centro" district, just one block from Parque Calderon, is available for monthly or short term rentals. Recently renovated with 1 bedroom / 1½ bath, the condo offers full service amenities for a comfortable stay in the most desired tourist area of this UNESCO World Heritage city. Restaurants, markets, banks, shops, museums and churches are all just a short walk away. If you're looking for a centrally located base with modern accommodations in the middle of Cuenca's old town area, this may be just right for you.
The condo is fully furnished with everything you'll need to unpack your luggage and start exploring Cuenca. An elevator makes the 4th floor easily accessible, especially at this altitude; approximately 2,560 m / 8,399 ft above sea level!
Enjoy lounging on the roomy, covered terrace which offers views across the terracotta tiled roofs to the mountains that surround the city. Enjoy watching the activities from above the intersection of Gran Columbia and Luis Cordero in the heart of El Centro.
The condo includes a large living room, bath with large shower (no tub), an additional half bath and washer/dryer area. The light-filled sitting area, looking out over the city, includes a comfortable couch and easy chair. Office/desk area has a built-in desk with plenty of drawers and cabinets. The bedroom has a queen bed and large built-in closets and shelves. A programmable safe is available. Linens and towels are included.
The fully remodeled kitchen has all new appliances, including a gas stovetop, refrigerator with top freezer, and a microwave. New small appliances include coffee maker, toaster, and convection oven.
Direct cable TV, Internet access (WiFi) and all utilities included.
Details Located at 8-17 Gran Columbia. Apt. 402, this 4th floor, fully furnished, newly renovated unit in Cuenca's El Centro district is offered for long term or short term rentals (see more detail in the RATES section below). The building elevator starts at the 2nd level (up 14 steps). The condo consists of 1 bedroom, 1.5 baths (with shower), living room, sitting area, kitchen, office space, laundry room and covered terrace over the intersection of Luis Cordero and Gran Columbia.
NEIGHBORHOOD: The condo is in the center of Cuenca's old town district "El Centro", one block from Parque Calderon. It is a short walk to most of Cuenca's tourist attractions, as well as shops, markets, banks and any services you may need.
SECURITY: Along with a few condos (floors 4, 5 and 6) the building houses laboratories, clinics and attorney offices that close by 7:00 PM. (makes for quiet evenings and weekends). The front doors, at the entrance on Gran Columbia are locked by the portero at 8:00 PM and during the lunch hour. Condo guests will have keys to access the building at any time. A metal gate locks over the condo entrance and is secured with a padlock. The bedroom has a programmable safe.
OCCUPANCY: Single or couple. One large bedroom. New queen-size bed with large closet and shelves. Linens and towels included.
TV: DirecTV 32" flat screen.
INTERNET: (WIFI). Approximate speed is 1100Kbps. Note: Internet service performance varies with weather conditions, cyber traffic volume and other unknown conditions. The condo is supported with the fastest speed available in the area.
RATES: $600 per month. The minimum duration reservation we will accept is 6 nights at $50 per night for six (6) to ten (10) night stays. For each night thereafter, through the 30th consecutive night, the rate will be $20 per night, not to exceed $600 for a one month period. Partial month extended stays, past full month reservations, will be charged at first month rates: $50 for first 10 nights and $20 per night thereafter, not to exceed $600 for the partial month.
DEPOSITS: $600 security/damage deposit (refundable). There will be a $25 charge from security deposit per set of keys if lost. $25 cleaning fee will be held from security deposit (non- refundable).
CELL PHONE: One activated cell phone will be provided upon request. There will be a $70 charge to security deposit if lost. Minutes for your cell phone may be purchased at local pharmacies and some grocery stores.
GROUND TRANSPORT: We will be happy to arrange transportation for you from the Cuenca airport to the condo. We will meet you at the condo to provide keys and show you around.
SORRY, NO PETS AND NO VISITING PETS
NO SMOKING INSIDE THE CONDO IS PERMITTED. Evidence of smoking inside may result in partial deposit withheld.
METHOD OF PAYMENT: Reservations will be confirmed after payment in full is received. Bank wire instructions will be provided via email for deposit and rental payments.
Refundable deposits will be returned via wire within ten days of your departure. No cash refunds will be issued.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: We require an inventory verification form be signed upon arrival. For long term reservations (6 months or longer), we will provide a rental agreement. We can forward a copy of the rental agreement for your review. We will also need to see picture identification (legal requirement).
