Noelle "noey" Guerrero
A&R / Management / Promotions / Producer
Noelle "noey" aka Tiare is a native of
San Francisco and began her music career back some twenty years ago as a DJ promoter throwing parties which soon led her to become an industry recognized top assistant to Jeremy "Dj digit" Cowan, the head buyer for Hip-Hop & Dance Music at Tower Records/One Stop; most recognized as a part of the DJ EFX /Dj Digit remixing team that contributed tribal house mixes to many major label releases in the early nineties. Noelle credits her opportunity and experience working alongside Cowan as her first "foot in the door" into the Music Industry.
In 1988 she began promoting parties and monthly nightclubs in the Bay Area and became Promotions Assistant for Bobby G Productions/Soul Disco Records where she managed the DJ record pool distribution and directed street teams for radio and record release promotions.
In 1989 she met Brian Samson (current Director of Promotions/ DefJamIsland); back then Brian had become the first Rap Editor at the industry trade publication "Gavin Report, which conducted rap/hip-hop panels at the magazine's annual conventions. Invited to attend many of those conventions she assisted Brian for his local On The Strength Management company, including Major label reps Earl Jackson of EWA & Jason Ricks of Arista as a promoter for the label showcases. It was during this exciting era of the music scene in SF that Noelle Tiare was exposed to the hustle & bustle of the Music Industry.
In 1991 she teamed up with some of the hottest talented local DJ crews such as Mind Motion / Pirate DJ Productions, Sway&King Tech promoting radio mix shows and PR/flyer distribution for SF nightclubs such as the now defunct Haight St favorite The Nightbreak, including the famous Mothership Connection and Cream of Beat. In that same year she made a connection with Label Exec Motti Shulman of the Sony/RAL/Def Jam group and quickly became a West Coast Independent Promoter / A&R contact for them and several other Major Labels-WEA, Chrysalis, Arista, coordinating studio time, radio / retail appearances, production, street team promotions, showcasing signed artists as well as up & coming local talent at venues.
In the late 90's she was part of the operations team for John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room in SF and she launched and operated for several years her own local nightclub promotion and artist management company known as Nelson Entertainment in San Francisco & Los Angeles. In 1999 she briefly joined CO3 in Santa Monica and assisted John Berzner at American Video Group (AVG) in LA where she learned various aspects of the the film and video production business.
Noelle has excellent artist development, management, producer and promo/PR skills; she is a down to earth consummate professional always keeping up with new Industry trends, such as EPKs, Cyber PR, digital services and other innovative ways to stay on top of the game. Joining Pacific Soul Records in 2009 and instrumental in forming PSR Music Group, she is responsible for talent scouting, the artistic development of recording artists, management and of course Promotion. In 2010 she launched Def Pacific Communicatons, a business that captures and presents the spirit and skill of her multi-faceted talents. Always making moves, becoming and staying involved in the 'Music Biz' is a long time passion for 'noey'. She has the true gift of picking the hit off the album and is often heard saying paying our dues, time for the payoff!
