Synopsis

Shaun is a mediocre magician - but excellent strategist - that is currently attending a mercenary school. In his final year, he gets accepted into his first choice mercenary guild the exclusive and mysterious Sovereign, along with his best friend Winnie and classmate Michael. Its going to be a long and tough road ahead for the three novices as they fulfill their training to become full-fledged members when they graduate, earning their right to wear the guild cape. While doing so, Shaun learns about the mysterious past of the reclusive leader of Sovereign and meets opposition from a rival guild, Ascendant.

Mercenaries

Mercenary Guilds

Mercenaries are hired to perform various tasks that usually involve hand to hand combat. There are five mercenary guilds: Ascendant, Jester, Legion, Seraph, and Sovereign. The guild council consists of the leaders of each of these guilds and ensures peace is kept between them.Students at their last year of mercenary school can apply to one of the five mercenary guilds. Once admitted, students become novices that must graduate from mercenary school before they can become full-fledged members. They are not allowed to take any mercenary jobs at this time. In order to graduate, they must pass the Mercenary Training Course. Once admitted as a full-fledged member, mercenaries become apprentices of connoisseurs, and they are given the guild cape. To become a connoisseur, they must complete a certain amount of mercenary jobs with and without their mentors, pass a rigorous exam, and gain the approval of the guild leader. Connoisseurs are under the supervision of the masters. Each connoisseur is assigned one of the three masters. Finally, the guild leader oversees all of the guild members.Some graduates do not enter guilds, and instead become independent mercenaries or find independent practices. These mercenaries have a plain cape with no symbol on its back.

Leader | The leader oversees all guild activities, as well as represents the guild in the guild council.Master | There are three masters in each guild: one for energy, one for technique, and one for combat. Connoisseur | Once a connoisseur, the mercenary can take any level mission by himself or herself. Each connoisseur is moderated by one of the guild masters.Apprentice | Each apprentice is assigned a connoisseur to supervise him or her. The connoisseur will train the apprentice and take him or her on missions. The apprentice must undergo a series of exams and requirements in order to become a cnnoisseur. One of the trials is to complete a high ranked mission by himself/herself.Novice | The novice is the entry level member of the guild. Novices are initiated into the guild during their final year of mercenary school, but do not become full fledged members until they pass their exams and graduate from mercenary school. Novices cannot take any mercenary missions.
No Frame

Dark Ages

Mercenaries were once assassins that were hired killers in the time of the Dark Ages. Much blood was spilled during this time. So much that the government set out to hunt down assassins and excute them. The executions lead to the end of the Dark Ages. Many assassins were either killed, retired, or went on to become independent mercenaries. Many of the mercenaries formed the guild system that is used today. The most famous assassin was nicknamed "Demon." He dressed all in black and had a kill count of over 600, a staggering number. Demon used his signature red dagger to channel lightning to kill his targets. Other notable assassins include "The Masked Lady," "Dart," "Shadow," and "The Scar."

Ascendant

Ascendant is known as a rogue guild that accepts more controversial jobs. It is lead by Steven, a fearsome leader who does not hesitate to kill. Some of the methods used by Ascendant are considered crude or disrespectful by the other gulds.

Jester

Jester is led by Zenith, who spent a decade of his life in prison after he was betrayed by his employers during an assassination. Since then, he acts strangely and loony at times, but is serious when need be. Members of Jester are known to be quick on the battlefield, so many of Jester's members are thieves or pirates.

Legion

Legion is the most populated guild and consequently the most powerful, so it is led by a council of three. Legion prizes those who are strong, no matter what class. Its three leaders are from a family of powerful, rich family of warriors.Legion was the original mercenary guild, founded almost immediately following the end of the Dark Ages. As it has three leaders, Legion has overwhelming power in the guild council, easily succumbing to corruption.

Seraph

Seraph relies heavily on defensive tactics and healing, and is led by Heidi, a kind-hearted priestess.

Sovereign

Sovereign is the newest guild, known to be both selective and misunderstood. It is led by Kyle. It has a symbol of a dragon on its cape because it represents freedom.

15 | Ice Magician | NoviceExcels as a strategist, but not so much in combat. He just barely makes it into the guild as a mediocre magician. He looks up to Melissa greatly because of her skill and nonchalant way of handling things, as well as the fact that she advanced to an apprentice much more quickly than he and the others had. He struggles with a constant urge to gain her approval that he confuses with love. Shaun's dad was a mercenary warrior under the guild Legion, who died during a mission. Shaun's mother hasnt been the same since then. He hopes to become stronger in order to make both his mom and dad proud and to prove his worth.
15 | Swordsman | NoviceShe is the childhood friend of Shaun and is secretly in love with him. Shaun is completely oblivious when Winnie gets nervous around him about some things. She is always concerned for Shaun's safety. She is very driven and fights for what she believes in. Winnie has a little brother named Wesley that wants to follow in her footsteps.
16 | Brawler | NoviceMichael is extremely skilled in combat, though sometimes reckless. He is the opposite of Shaun in that he relies on fighting in the moment rather than strategizing. He comes from a rich family and had numerous lessons in fighting as he grew up. Sick of being sheltered, he decides to go to mercenary school.

17 | Sorceress | ApprenticeShe gained the title of apprentice very quickly due to her amazing skill with magic and combat. She has a very nonchalant attitude and is solely focused on training and doing jobs because of her past. Her family was murdered when she was a baby.
23 | Dual Swordsman | ConnoisseurJack is Melissas supervisor, even though they are complete opposites. He loves to flirt and is very carefree.
33 | Lightning | Leader of SovereignKyle is the fearless, merciless leader of Sovereign. He practices constant vigilance, and stresses the ideas of courage, determination, and honor. He founded the guild and quickly gained influence in the guild rankings.

25 | Buccaneer | MasterLaura met Kyle while she was a street fighter named Fury. She had easily picked up all the winnings in a competition, angering tons and was targeted by the gangs. She was saved by Kyle and she joined him. Laura is Jacks master. Laura had been an orphan and lived at the underground terraces for most of her life.
23 | Bowman | MasterAdam is Laura's brother. He is stubborn and often uncaring of others. While Laura was raised in the underground steetfighting terrace, Adam was adopted by a female archer who taught him all he knows.
36 | Sorceress | MasterShannon is the master of energy in Sovereign. Her control of energy is unmatched. She often practices her control by levitating.

Blood Pact

Thousands of years ago, a group of sorcerers discovered a link to another dimension capable of bringing summoned spirits into the world. At first, it seemed like a breakthrough discovery, as mages summoned beings to aid them in battle. Soon, though, disaster struck. The summonings wreaked havoc on the earth, destroying everything in their wake as they went out of control. A group of brave sorcerers gave their blood to seal the portal for eternity in hopes that no summoned being would return to the earth again.
There is a special group of summonings called summoners. They are highly intellectual, and they think like humans, with motives and personalities. These summoners control the in and out flow of summonings between the two dimensions.
As long as descendants of the sorcerers in the blood pact are loyal and exist in the world, the portal will remain sealed.

So just because something seems similiar doesn't mean you copied it from there. All my guild names are taken from real Maplestory guilds that I came across when I used to play. The idea of mercenaries came from the game Fire Emblem. The idea of having a mercenary school and graduation came from the game Crimson Gem Saga. Many of the characters are based off of characters in Tales games.13Q. Will it ever be voice acted?A. There are SO many problems with that. One is finding the right voice actors and actresses, which is the hardest part. Second these actors must be able to send lines to you on time, which takes time. Third I have to coordinate the audio clips with my video, and also add lip syncing. Fourth I have so many characters that it's really really hard. Fifth, bad voice acting could ruin the story. So basically no, haha.
