NEXT WORKSHOP:
Friday 11th February 2011
Tickets now on general sale
£50.00 per person.
WHO IS IT AIMED AT?: Budding broadcasters with no experience who think they've got what it takes to make it in broadcast as a football commentator and for anyone, regardless of experience, who is generally interested in football and commentating.
Since 2007, The Football Commentary Experience has been helping budding football commentators and ambitious wannabe broadcasters realise, first hand, just what is involved being a football commentator.
Our event is totally unique, hosted by expert commentators and specially fine-tuned to give participants a unique experience at a very affordable price of just £50 per person for our workshop event and £60 for the actual matchday experience event which we hope to provide a date for soon for Spring 2011.
During the workshop you'll get to discover what makes a good commentator. You'll get advice on how you get into the broadcast industry and there are pointers on how to produce good quality audio without spending a fortune.
The workshop also offers the opportunity for the participants to use their voice in a series of exciting and fun-filled audio assignments, including a taste of action on the front line as a football commentator - under the helpful tutorage of our experienced commentators.
In the past we have managed to offer participants of The Football Commentary Experience some work opportunities and we will continue to keep our eyes open for new talent that we can help onto the ladder in our new look workshop. Go to our Testimonials page to read of some of our numerous success stories. that we are very proud of.
If you would like to participate in a future workshop, why not get in touch and join our mailing list and we will happily contact you once dates and venues for 2011 are confirmed.

"I attended the FCE in February 2008 and am now regularly covering matches for BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey, including full live commentaries on matches in League Two and the Blue Square Premier. I would highly recommend the FCE to anyone looking to learn the art of sports commentary."
ANDREW RAEBURN
"Three years ago I did an football commentary experience workshop in Barnsley and found it really useful. I learnt quite a few new skills whilst being given sound advice which has got me to where I am now. The experience was a fantastic day and I would reccomend anyone who fancies themself as the next John Motson to go on it and I can promise that you will learn many things that you didn't already know which will help you.
I'm now commentating at Notts County for an organisation called Soccersight. Soccersight provides commentaries for people with sight loss.
I came around this opportunity whilst just searching the internet for football commentary courses. The football commentary experience inspired me and helped me find new ways of how to be spotted as a football commentator. "
MATT CAIRNS
Callum Williams attended the very first Commentary Experience and has made good progression too. He can now be found covering all Chesterfield home matches for BBC Sheffield. Tom Pickup now commentates on Bury matches for Roch Valley Radio since he attended one of our experience workshops in 2008. Rob Brennan, since he added The Football Commentary Experience in Spring 2008 at Fulham's Craven Cottage has been presenting a weekly sports show and covering QPR matches for On FM. Chris Rivers was at our Barnsley workshop in 2008. Now a days he is a regular commentator for ICS, covering matches that are streamed all around the world.
All genuine success stories. We want to add to this and it could be you!...

The Football Commentary Experience attempted to host a matchday experience event for two years now.
Sadly this was not viable due to accreditation issues and the high cost of hiring suitable facilities within a stadium on a matchday.
We are still keen to make the Matchday Experience happen and are currently in negotiation with several clubs in the hope we can get a matchday experience event to take place in late 2010/11 season. We have certainly picked up plenty of interest for such an event and hope to have news on this very very soon.

ideally we are looking for people providing .mp3 or .wav files of their finished recordings and the show's producers asks that the recordings are between one and four minutes duration to help enable us to try and accommodate as many as possible into the half hour monthly recorded show.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
In addition to the Football Commentary Experience, in February 2010 we launched a brand new pilot podcast show with the unique emphasis being that the major contributors of the show are people who are trying to make a mark in the broadcast industry.
As well as obviously being football loving as the show if football related, the participants we are looking for are recent graduates or people looking to break into broadcast. It is an ideal opportunity to make an impression. All successful contributors will be sent a recording of the show on CD to treasure, and to use in their portfolio for future reference.
The concept of the show is very original. It is also proving very popular very quickly. The theme of the show is football but we are very keen to avoid making the show debate orientated. We want features, ideally features that are original and different.
Show one can be heard by clicking http://footballexperience.podbean.com/ - if you think you can do better then what are you waiting for?You will also find more information on the podcast show by visiting the web page.
We are hopeful our busy guys can find the time to produce another show to help those wanting to get recognised with their voice. Watch this space.
