Prior to his new ventures, Omkar managed the new venture creation process at Thomson Reuters with particular focus on internal fund-raising, business plan review and financial planning/modelling.
Responsibilities included review of new business opportunities for the company in the fields of tax and accounting including financial reporting, process improvements, outsourcing and cost rationalisation
Before that, Omkar spent over 6 years in the Reuters finance function as a fast-track accountant serving in various roles from Financial Analyst to Group Financial Manager. During this period, he led global IFRS implementation for Reuters and other finance transformation and related projects.
Developed a centre of excellence in Bangalore, India for technical accounting guidance and policy management.
Led the IFRS implementation project for Reuters in 2005. The project won accolades in the industry for its trasformational intensity and communication to the markets.
Part of team that setup the shared sevice centre in Singapore for Asia including travel to countries including Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and India.
