About Writing 150
Writing 150 is a 3-credit introductory writing course offered at Brigham Young University. The course aims at helping students develop skills in rhetorical argument and analysis which will aid them in their college experience and life outside the classroom.
Writing 150 teaches students how to participate in discourse communities and recognize the audience and purposes of various rhetorical situations. Students will learn how to think critically and evaluate arguments by engaging texts and using sound writing principles. Each section of Writing 150 addresses one of four topics: mass media, globalization, the environment, and religion in America.
