The Power to Be International is dedicated to the development and maintenance of positive youth communities. We seek to provide resources and opportunities for youth to discover and utilize their full potential, collectively and as individuals. The Power to Be’s programs and resources are meant to strengthen and maintain the capacity of young people in the following areas:
Academics
Leadership
Community Awareness and Involvement
Youth Advocacy
We believe that strengthening the capacity of youth will improve their quality of life. Our resources and programs are designed to increase levels of progress and create positive sustainable change within communities across the world.
The Power To Be Youth Changemakers Program is a leadership program designed to engage youth through local and global service while simultaneously providing mentorship, leadership training, character development and education.
"The Changemakers" will have hands on experience with the planning and implementation of our projects and fundraising efforts. This will empower young people to be an instrument of change and build a sense of community.
The program is designed for youth 14 to 18; high students can earn volunteer hours towards the completion of their OSSD. Contact us if you are interested in registering in the upcoming fall cohort.

Camp Power to Be Literacy and Leadership Camp in Jamaica
We are currently accepting applications from post-secondary students and working professionals who are interested in joining our team to volunteer with our project in Jamaica this summer 2011.
Please email us for a full outline and details on the project and volunteer responsibilities.
Travel Dates: July 6th to July 24th 2011
Program fee for volunteers: $1799 (Volunteers are encourged to fund raise the fee)
Volunteer program package includes:
• Roundtrip airfare from Toronto (YYZ) to (MBJ) Jamaica
• Transportation to and from the (MBJ) airport to camp location
• Accommodation and three (3) meals daily (18 days)
• Travel and medical insurance
• Social justice training and workshops

Secondary School Scholarship Program
Supports uniform, school supplies, and books for selected students in the Caribbean. The program will also track individual students through personal letters and progress reports in an effort to provide continued support and encouragement.
