BIOGPhilip (Pip) Walsh is a freelance Lighting Designer, working primarily in Theatre. He also provides lighting design services for corporate and special events. He has been working as a Lighting Designer & Technician for ten years.His theatre work encompasses a wide variety of productions; Drama, Musicals, Dance & Variety Shows. Pip has worked throughout Ireland, the UK, & London.Recent credits include Holy Day & Playboy of the Western World (Wexford Drama Group) and the Sonraigh Youth Dance Festival (Myriad Dance _ Wexford Opera House). Other credits include All4One (Oyster Lane Theatre Group), The Mai, Factory Girls, The Last Apache Reunion, By the Bog of Cats & The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Wexford Drama Group), The Cripple of Innisman (Bridge Drama), Women Beware Women (Rose Bruford College), Facing the Stranger, Primal, WAC25, The Company of Wolves, Lady of the House of Love & Macbeth (Young Raven Theatre Group/Nocturne Productions) & The Crucible (Nocturne Productions).He was a founding member of Young Raven Theatre Group (now Nocturne Productions) and has won a number of awards and received a nomination for Best Lighting at the 2007 RTE All Ireland Drama final in Athlone with Wexford Drama Groups production of By the Bog of Cats. Currently Lighting Technician at Wexford OperaHouse, Pip has recently worked with the likes of comedian Des Bishop and musicians John Spillane, and Paul Brady in the O'Rielly Theatre. In the Jerome Hynes theatre Pip has worked with Camross Drama Group on Reading Turgenev and Bridge Drama on their All Ireland winning Same Old Moon. He also worked as technician for Wexford Light Operas Irish Premiere of The Producers, for which he also provided followspot services. In June 2009 Pip provided lighting for the Theatre Forum Ireland National Conference. . Upcoming projects include Colm Wilkinson at Wexford Opera House, Wexford Drama Groups Summer and Wexford Festival Opera Productions.
