The story behind KaleidoWear and my urge to create sustainably came about when I mixed scrap fabric with an old skirt. Putting these beautiful pieces together felt like magic. As the skirt grew and grew, I just knew I was on to something. The following year, I did the same thing but with oranges, reds and yellows. Needless to say, I had amassed a huge collection of fabric just waiting for these designs. Once I had the two amazing skirts that just tickled the senses, they needed a name. My mother-in-law just happened to be visiting and within minutes, we came up with KaleidoSkirts which I subsequently transformed into KaleidoWear. The kaleidoscopic array of various fabrics seemed to move with a life of their own. Somehow, they moved through me and a consecrated union was inevitable. Now, I aim to make kaleidoscopes for the earth and keep it moving through me.
