HI, thank you so much for taking the time to visit our page
.
The 6 hour drumming marathon Dec 3rd 12 Noon till 6pm is something we decided to complete to raise money to help us to participate in next year’s 8th UK Taiko Festival and to be able to donate some to the Japanese Red Cross . Also to introduce you to Japanese Taiko Drumming and to have fun while doing ‘all of the above’.
Why donate specifically to the Japanese Red Cross?
After last year’s Lostwithiel Food Festival we were befriended by a lovely Japanese lady and her husband David. Hiromi invited Tanoshii Taiko to join in with a musical fund raiser outside St Austell ASDA just days after the horrific Tsunami earlier this year. Hiromi is now in the process of organising a dinner/concert at the Eden Project on the 16th March 2012 to raise more funds to continue to help the survivors of the Tsunami and Tanoshii Taiko are honoured to have been invited to join that amazing concert. More detail to follow or visit our Facebook page nearer the time?
The Tsunami influenced the piece we wrote for last years UK Taiko festival. We called the piece ‘YOSO O HANASHI’ (Story of the Elements) and it was greatly praised at the festival , we will be playing ‘HANASHI’ during our concerts .
If you feel you want to sponsor us or donate any amount then ‘please click on the link’ to do just that. If you wish your donation to go directly to the Japanese Red Cross please use the contact page here and give the details of your donation and we will sort that for you.
Thank you
