I have been in love with capturing life's little and big moments on film since I was a little girl using my Mom's Polaroid camera. I received my first camera when I was about three years old- a sweet little pink pixie 110 film camera that I still have today! The best gift I have ever received was my first 35mm SLR Nikon camera from my parents when I was in high school. I went out that very day and took pictures of EVERYTHING I could find! Trees, flowers, people...no subject was too mundane. That exhilaration for photography has been with me my whole life and I still find that no subject is too boring or plain, you can find beauty in everything around you if you are willing to look for it!
I got my start in professional photography during high school when I worked for several outdoor adventure companies in Pennsylvania where I photographed outdoor adventure sports like rafting, biking and paintball. During college, I began working for several independent photographers where I expanded my horizons to include weddings, reunions, family portraits, pets and even Nascar Races and Indy Car racing schools!
After receiving my degree in Commercial Art Photography, my husband and I moved to California in 2001 so that I could attend Brooks Institute of Photography. But the cost of living was so shocking, I ended up getting a 9 to 5 desk job instead and somehow found myself going back to school to get a Bachelor's Degree in Business!
My husband and I recently had a baby girl and she has rocked my world and has made me realize I need to be doing what I enjoy in life and pursue my passion. I love to photograph people and nature and when I can combine the two, I'm in heaven! I like to focus on natural light photography outdoors, but I also use natural light to capture indoor portraits as well.
So if you are looking for a more laid back, casual and fun photography experience, I am your girl! My goal is to make you feel at ease and comfortable in front of the camera so I can capture the TRUE you!
