Adding to Phi Psis Little 500 lore, Steve Tesich (42-96), writer of the Academy Award winning "Breaking Away", is also an alumnus of the fraternity.
The Indiana University chapter of Phi Kappa Psi (Indiana Beta) was founded on May 15, 1869. Since that time, "Phi Psi" has enjoyed its status as one of the most prominent fraternity chapters on campus. Our chapter is also the largest in the country, with almost 3,000 members initiated.
In addition to our Little 500 performances, our fraternitys athletic prowess is also evidenced by many alumni who have excelled in sports beyond college, including 7-time Olympic Gold medal winner, Mark Spitz.
Academic excellence is just as important to us as athletics. Our chapter has produced more Rhodes Scholars than any other fraternity chapter at Indiana University and more than any other single chapter of the national Fraternity. Alumni have excelled in the business world across the globe and give back thousands of dollars annually in academic-based scholarships.

August 8th, 2011
Each year, Phi Kappa Psi consistently fields one of the largest, if not the largest, cycling team on campus. The competition and camradarie among Team members is one of our core strengths.
Our race team this year is going to be composed from the competitive, hard working riders that have shown intense interest and training dedication.
Two experienced riders, Tyler Lucas (Fall '08) and Miles Johnson (Spring '10) will be returning to race in 2012. Tyler has been racing crits and triathalons and consistently proves to be a endurance machine. Miles has been racing throughout the summer with a handful of podium finishes in the cat. 3s.
We have new rookies training as well. Sophomores Athony Wroten (Fall '10), Sean Gelson (Fall '10) have made a super effort with their progress. We also have Ian Shoup and Bill Cohen (Fall '11). They have been developing their cycling skills and fitness over the year.
The 2011 Team successfully qualified for the 61st Little 500! The longest streak at Indiana University.

Donate
Phi Psi Cycling is fortunate to receive donations from many alumni and friends. Without your help, we could not continue the success and traditionof our program.
The Little 500 race supports goal setting and achievement, two valuable traits that are embraced by the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Riders learn how to work conjunctively on the track and how to motivate rookies to become integral members of the team. Our riders strive for success everyday. These valuable aspects are carried with them on into whatever career path they chose.
