Hi there,First, let me thank you for visiting my site! I hope you enjoy what you see and read.I've been working in theatre since senior school, and studied Theatre Design and Technology at Bretton Hall, where I specialised in Lighting Design.Whilst at uni, I entered the annual White Light Bursary 2002, where I submitted a design, for which I was awarded the ETC Bursary, and £500, which I promptly spent on tickets and accomodation to the Prague Quadrennial in 2003.I've always wanted to persure Lighting Design as my career, and find inspiration for it everywhere. From natural light, through architectural, to devised and naturalistic performances. At uni I studied the work of the scenographer, which is something I try to keep at the root of all my ideas, and as I develop them. Whilst not always being control of so many elements, like a scenographer, understadning that working is fundamental to how I work with set designers, sound designers, directors, etc... etc...I have loved working in the past through devised performance. It has led to me working with The Paper BIrds, where the perfromance went on to the NSDF and the Edinburgh Fringe. Looking back, there is so much more I would have liked to have done, and it is something I would love to do again.Since leaving uni I have worked as a freelance designer, predominantly for the Birmingham School of Acting, and designed as part of full time jobs, as a technicain at different places.I currently work at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where I am a Venues Technician. I hope to be able to develop my career as a Lighting Designer whilst at the college, as much as I can, over the next few years. It is exciting times here right now with the new facilities opening and the upcoming SBTD exhibition that takes place early 2011.I'm committed to developing as a Lighting Designer, and hopefully after looking through this site you'll want to work with me. Please don't hesitate to get in touch! So, have a good look round and hopefully you'll like what's here!
