Standing on its three pillars of Professionalism, Philanthropy, and Social, Phi Gamma Nu offers its members an abundance of diverse events throughout the year. Whether its jumpstarting your professional career with different professionalism events, lending a helping hand in the community with our philanthropy events, or developing life-long friendships during our many social functions, PGN members enjoy this organization as an active, formative part of their college experience. Phi Gamma Nu is the only business fraternity on campus that accepts all majors, providing for a diverse network of the most talented, driven people at the University of Illinois. The membership consists of 22% Finance, 19% Accounting, 15% Accounting & Finance, 8% Marketing, 7% Business Administration, 6% Advertising, 4% Business Undecided and 19% is distributed between other majors.ProfessionalismPhi Gamma Nu consists of members interested in all areas of business who are driven to develop their professional skills. Members benefit from resume critiques, mock interviews, internship panels, etiquette dinners, and regular company presentations from our industry-leading corporate sponsors. Phi Gamma Nu members frequently are given the opportunity to network with these companies through events such as Corporate Sponsors Panel and Corporate Sponsors Social. Most importantly, Phi Gamma Nu provides the opportunity for our members to network with each other, creating useful relationships for future career development.PhilanthropyGiving back to the local community is an important aspect of our organization's philosophy, and we pride ourselves on contributing to a variety of philanthropy events every semester. PGN members participate in events such as Adopt-A-Highway cleanups, blood drives, Relay for Life, canned food drives, the Mall-oween Kids Program at Lincoln Square Mall, and coaching a local kids basketball team. Phi Gamma Nu created and annually hosts the Mr. Business competition to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. The PGN calendar is filled with constant philanthropy events, always giving members a chance to lend a helping hand to the community.SocialYou name it, Phi Gamma Nu has it! Barn dances, tailgating, Formals, happy hours, pledge parties, camping, BBQ's, Moms and Dads weekends, and so much more. You like sports? PGN regularly plays football on the Quad, competes in just about every intramural sport, and goes to Cubs, White Sox, and Blackhawks games. Our social schedule is filled with events that make each semester more fun and memorable than the last. It's not just our events, however, that make our social pillar so great. The people you meet as a Phi Gamma Nu member are what make our organization so special, and our social events help build lasting friendships that last far beyond our years at school.

If you are interested at all in what Phi Gamma Nu offers, please take part in our rush process for Spring 2010! We are the nation's premier business fraternity, and the only fraternity on campus that accepts all majors. Make sure to read about all that Phi Gamma Nu has to offer in our About Us page.To participate in the rush process, please join us at our Information Night. While there, you can sign up for a first stage interview as well as meet actives and learn more about our organization. First stage interviews will consist of three shorter interviews with two actives. After that, you will be notified if you are invited to return for our second and third stage. In addition to the different events Phi Gamma Nu offers, you will develop personal relationships with all the members of our fraternity. PGN includes siblings, roommates, best friends, significant others, pledge families, and mentors, both formal and informal. Relationships truly do last a lifetime. As a second semester senior, I can say that PGN changed college for me. I’ve served on several committees as well as the Executive Board. As a pledge I learned about possible career paths from older members, then as an active researched these options and took classes with other members. I joined a consulting organization on the recommendation of a former President. I was given the opportunity to be a TA for Business 101. In the fall I’ll be working for a company with other PGN members and hanging out with alumni in the city. I can truly say I would not have had many opportunities throughout college without the connections I made throughout my time in Phi Gamma Nu.We want you to take the next step and become part of our fraternity. 117 people have already made the commitment to shaping their future: will you?Cara WhiteRecruitment Chair
