Sweet Seraphine Wedding & Design is doing their part in helping those less fortunate in the Dominican Republic by donating wedding gowns to Elmvale Community Church. This special charity collects new and old wedding gowns and sends them to the Dominican Republic for those women who are unable to afford a wedding gown for their special day. This not only gives these brides a beautiful gown to wear, but also gives them a sense of hope and dignity. If you know of anyone who also wants to donate a gown to this cause, contact us.
APPOINTMENTS We at Sweet Seraphine Wedding & Design pride ourselves on our customer service.
We highly suggest booking an appointment so that one of our highly trained stylists can provide
you with the attention necessary for all your wedding needs.
When attending your appointment, please remember to bring shoes in the desired height you plan on wearing on your wedding day. Please also bring appropriate undergarments (ie. Corsets, strapless bra, spanx, etc.) for the style of dress you have in mind. We reserve an hour and a half for all appointments in order to provide you with enough time to select and try on our gowns, so please arrive on time!
Please send us your name, phone number and time you wish to be contacted.
TIPS Before you begin shopping, here are a few tips to make your experience as pleasant as possible...
Make an appointment. This is to ensure you don't wait around for an hour while the consultant helps customers who did have an appointment. People with appointments will always come first.
You'll definitely want an opinion aside from the consultant's. However, don't make the mistake of taking an entourage. Not only will they get in the way, but none of them will all agree on anything, and mostly likely, at least one of them won't like whatever dress you're trying on. It's probably best to take one person (or maybe two, like your mother and maid of honor), whose opinion you trust and value.
Dont forget your shoes . Whether its in the shopping or alteration phase, be sure you have your wedding shoes or you wont see the full image you need to make a decision.
The day you're headed to the bridal salon, ditch your usual scent and makeup. As much as you may want to look (and smell) good that day, cosmetics can actually stain or damage sample gowns. Messy deodorant is another gown-shopping no-no. And easy on, easy off clothing is best since you will be in and out of dresses most of the day. Wear as little jewelry as possible, unless its the jewellery you're planning to wear on your big day.
If you are planning on wearing structural undergarments like a push up bra , corset type bodysuit , or anything that will alter your shape at all, wear it when you are trying on gowns. It WILL affect how it looks in the end.
Try on as many styles as you can. Lots of dresses have zero hanger appeal, but look great once you put them on.
Don't be discouraged. Most women will try on many, many gowns during their search. It's not only normal to not find the perfect gown on your first try, it could be a warning sign that you're making a rash decision you'll regret later.
And most of all, remember this is your day and your dress, your opinion and comfort are the most important. All eyes will be on you!
