Why we do what we doSignificant and persistent changes are occurring in todays healthcare environment. Fewer physicians are practicing in primary care and many are about to retire; the baby boomer generation as a patient population is about to grow significantly from now until 2014; and current-day economics are influencing staffing options in primary care offices. These changes are culminating in a compensatory increase in the national demand for NPs and PAs. Extensive market research conducted by PCE led to the creation of this educational initiative. Currently, PCE is the only significant national CE/CME program created specifically for the educational needs of NPs and PAs.
