We have the start of this build with a TJ Sahara that has been in heated storage for 3 years! We started out with a engine tune up. New distributor cap and rotor, plugs, and wires. This TJ was sucking down the gas bad, now it's back up to glory.
We had to change the rear bumper/tire carrier out with the bad mount it had. One bolt on each side just won't cut it, not to mention the whole unit was pulling away from the jeep.
Here is the "After" shot. We went with DOM tubing for the tire carrier, and a nice beefy upgraded spindle for ease of opening, and the integrated "T" handle latch which is welded so as not to lose the handle. We also took out the bucket lights and mounted LED's for the brake/turn and the reverse lights. Clean look, and branches will not take these out!
The license plate bracket was taken off the left side and mounted to the tire carrier, along with another fabrication plus; quick removal with a single pin pull, and the wiring has quick connects, to make this an easy mod!
The front end also gets more strength with some help from Teraflex with their track bar, much thicker than the stock piece. Rugged Ridge supplied the Crossover Steering system to provide better response, and not to mention getting those components higher to avoid trail damage.
Here is a good shot of the new bumper. We call this one the "Boner Bar"! The owner wanted a stinger with a competition length to not only provide forward protection in the case of a "endo", but will offer protection in the case of a rollover keeping tabs on the radiator and engine. The two hoops will protect the lights and give it a more distinct look over other stingers out there. An integrated winch plate was added for the future purchase, along with some fog lights.
