Well..... it's not purple, but the wheels are (now). This will be an ongoing project here for a while but we will give you a list of all the good stuff this TJ will be getting. Dana 44 axle with 4.56 gears and a locker in the rear, and an Aussie locker with same gearing in the front. Performance Hi-line fenders front and rear for when things get nasty and quitting is not an option. Our own tube doors and a custom tire carrier will make things even better all around. The roll cage is getting upgraded, but not sure how far we plan on going with that. The front bumper will get our own custom job to make a home for a Warn M8000 winch to boot. Terraflex will be getting the nod for the front anti-roll bar for more control and flex on the trail and on the road. Of course we are installing a lift kit too, just not sure what as of yet, and we will also be installing a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit to make things nice and smooth, as well as dependable when the lift is on. Skid plates will be upgraded to keep everything from getting rock rash, and tires and wheels will be upgraded too, not sure what these will be too............I like surprises, just not on the trail!
Let's start out with the 1" custom body mounts! We moved the whole mount itself to get the 1" of lift, instead of adding the usual pucks. We did the same thing with the motor mounts as well! Doing this type of modification will give me a 3" gain for the skid plate for added clearance easy.
I have an aluminum gas tank skid ready to go in, and I will also raise the fuel tank 1" to be in-line with the body, and motor mounts.......more clearance!
Here is a shot of the undercarriage skid plates ready to go in as well, armor is well received in a Jeep!
This shot is of the Transfer case mount. This will allow the undercarriage to get a lift, and the T-case to rest right on the skid to keep the angles in check to minimize possible driveline vibration.
We have installed the sport cage and with help from Blue Torch Fabworks TJ dash tie in kit. This has got to be my favorite tie in, short of fabricating DOM tubing straight to the floor.
Custom Performance rear bumper with clevis mounts
We finished the sport cage, had it painted black, and re-installed it. This has got to be one of the best mods to your jeep if you are considering wheeling it more than just "novice". We also fabbed the rear corners with welded steel tube HiLine fenders. We are working on fabricating the front tube fenders as well.
This is the color I am considering painting the TJ. Eastwood sells this color called "Plum Loco" modeled after the early 70's muscle car era paints. Very nice......
We got this one ready for some trail testing soon. Tube fenders front and back, and rock sliders make this nicely armored.
Here we have a custom Performance bumper with a winch installed. The HiLine fenders really show there stuff for clearance here!
Here is a nice shot of the CB mount to make communicating easier on the trail.
