We have this very cool "Forward Control" jeep in for some major frame work since it wouldn't pass inspection.
This is a shot of the battery box by the passenger seat. Plenty of rust has plagued this jeep making this quite the project.
We got started with the rear frame by cutting off the problem section. I also have to mention that the frame has a "sub-frame" for the back body. Somehow these were welded together, instead of being bolted, to make way for any future dump body use.
Joe started to "sleeve" the left side of the frame to make it stronger.
Here is a shot of the frame rails getting closer to a finish fabrication. Accounting for the axle clearance, and reinforcing it at those key places makes for a nice heavy duty capable jeep.
Here we have a shot of Joe hard at work mounting the leaf springs, axle, and the cross members. We need to make sure this frame is just right, since it will be the foundation for the sub-frame.
Here we have the rear frame finished and painted! The shock mounts are going to be installed along with the fuel tank mounts. We needed to have a nice solid foundation for the sub-frame for the dump body. Finally we installed the new side window glass for the passenger side door.
We are in the process of fabricating the sub frame for the dump body. The gas tank holder is fabbed and in, along with the rear bumper and trailer hitch. New shocks with mounts are installed, and the frame has some triangular bracing added for more strength.
Here we have a good shot of the underside of the sub frame to the dump body of this workhorse. We have done some significant fabrication to make this frame usable for any application the owner needs. Come see what we can do for you!
We installed the front driveshaft along with the gas tank to get this jeep running on it's own. Subframe is next!
We are getting closer to finishing this workhorse. The electrics are being tested for the dump body as with all of the basics associated with it. Just a few more days and this will be out pushing snow and dumping dirt!
We finally finished this Jeep workhorse. The owner should be very happy with how this one turned out!
