Welcome Notes
Welcome to my personal website. Suffice it to say, it has gone through many renovations through its day, but I am very proud to note that this site has been around since 1999. It has grown with me as I have developed my character and become more comfortable with myself. Enjoy learning a little bit more about me, and feel free to reach out and contact if you have any questions about any aspects of my life, studies, or this website itself. Godspeed.

The Asian Student Commission was founded in 1985 as an organization that would serve to promote Asian cultural awareness on the University of Washington campus, for all students. The Commission is a representative of the voices and issues surrounding the University's Asian community which as accounts for over 30% of the student population (both undergraduate and graduate levels). Throughout the academic school year, the ASC is involved in fostering social, political, as well as community activities.
The commission also serves as the overseeing umbrella organization, helping unite the many diverse Asian associations on campus. Bi-weekly meetings are organized by the commission director designed to facilitate dialogue between the associations of the ASC. These meetings encourage coordination, information, transparency, growth, and kinship between Asians on campus. The ASC also creates programs for both the University and community at large to enjoy, embrace, and celebrate Asian cultures.

Japanese Student Association
The Japanese Student Association at the University of Washington was established with goals of uniting students of similar interest and introducing Japanese culture to those eager to learn.
To fulfil its objective, they introduce Japanese culture through cultural events and several social gatherings which are presented by the officers and suggested by the members as well. The intention is not only to emphasize the spread of Japanese culture, but also to have fun at the same time.

Travel & Language
Ever since moving away to Seattle for college, I have been infatuated with travel and adventuring outside my comfort zone. I have a thirst for culture and a desire to learn from the world. My travels have brought me to most of Western Europe and a few countries in Asia so far, but I hope to one day explore the rest of the world.
Along with travel, I have a strong interest in linguistics. This prompted me to learn how to read Japanese カタカナ and ひらがな, Korean 한글, and Simplifed Chinese 简体字. I practice with pronunciation in these languages each day and am interested in continuing my language studies for the rest of my life.
Hiking
Do not get me wrong, I am a total city boy. Though sometimes it feels great to just get out of the city and enjoy the nature that surrounds us. It makes me feel like I am getting back to basics, and it is an exhilaration that cannot be replaced. I used to hike at Red Rock National Park about 40 minutes outside of Las Vegas when I was in high school, but I have begun to explore other sites in the Northwest such as Mt. Si near Northbend. I am always looking for new places to explore, and I am open to any advice or recommendations from any avid hikers out there.
