8:30 AM Ignite -prayer in Fellowship Hall West
Dress as
casual or formal
as you feel comfortable,
we're just glad to
have you join us!
Welcome!
At Living Hope Church, you will find that we prioritize
relationships over religion and people over programs.
Adults can discover authentic Christian relationships in "Life Groups".
Preschoolers and elementary age children will experience
a safe caring and fun-filled atmosphere,
and teens will find an environment that presents Christianity
in an authentic way that addresses the "real world" they live in.
One of the great things about Living Hope Church is that it can be as big
or as small as you make it. It may feel intimidating at first,
but follow these directions and
you'll find yourself getting connected in no time.
Come and join us as we grow together in this exciting faith journey!
Welcome to Living Hope Church
Somone will greet you at the door. If you need directions to a Sunday School Class, Nursery, or restrooms or simply have a question, please ask. Our Greeters will be able to help you.
Worship: we usually sing for about 20 minutes using a variety of contemporary Christian songs and hymns.
Greeting time: We take about 3 minutes to welcome eachother. You will see a countdown video on our screen. When the the clock gets to "0" we ask that everyone begin to find their place to sit.
Message : Biblical and practical with at least one idea of how to apply what you've learned throughout the week. We sometimes use video, power points and dramas to enhance the message
Communion: We typically partake in communion on the first Sunday of each month, We practice open communion, which means that you do not have to be a regular attender or member of the church to partake. We use grapejuice instead of wine.
Following the service we invite you to the welcome table for an opportunity to meet with the Pastors and recieve a gift. Just a little something to say "thanks for coming".
Parents
Child care for ages 0-2 years is available during the service. We provide safe and attentive care for your children. Background checks are done for all workers. When you check in your child, you will be given a number. You will use this number to pick up your child at the end of the service. If the workers should need to contact you during the service, your child's number will be displayed on the screen in the sancturary.
Children 3 years and over will join you during the worship time and given an option later in the service to go to:
"Lil Godz Kidz" - meets in the Fellowship Hall (parents are asked to check them in and out)
"Godz Kidz" - meet in our ministry building (which is about 30 feet North of our main building)
One thing you will notice is that we love children at LHC

What We Believe
We are a Pentecostal Church.
The Assemblies of God is a Protestant fellowship. We believe that each person may commune directly with God based on Jesus' death on the cross. This provides a personal and meaningful relationship with Him. While we are less formal in our worship to God than many Protestant denominations, the Assemblies of God is very similar in faith, with the exception of our Pentecostal doctrine. (See Hebrews 4:14-16; 6:20; Ephesians 2:18)
The One True God.
Like most Christian churches, the Assemblies of God believes God exists in three persons--the Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit. We believe all three are alive and at work today.
The Fall of Man
We believe that all people are faced with a sin problem because of the first man's (Adam's) willful disobedience to God. As a result of Adam's fall, all people are born with a sinful nature. While children are covered by Grace until they reach the age of accountability, everyone else needs redemption provided only through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Only by receiving His forgiveness and accepting Him as Lord can people be forgiven of their sins. (See Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; and Romans 5:12-19).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two years after the founding of the Assemblies of God, members adopted 16 beliefs for the Fellowship. This list, known as the Statement of Fundamental Truths, remains virtually unchanged. Four of these beliefs are considered the major tenets of the Fellowship. They are:
1. Salvation Through Jesus Christ (John 3:3, 16, 17; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8, 9)
Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life.
2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 17, 18, 38, 39)
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.
3. Divine Healing for the Sick (James 5:14-16)
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.
4. The Second Coming of Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:14-16; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52)
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.

Our Distinctive Doctrine
Our Mission Statement
Keith & Darla Thompson, Lead Pastor
Pastor Keith Thompson graduated from North Central University and has been involved in full time ministry since 1987. In June of 1991, Pastor Keith and his wife Darla came to Living Hope Assembly of God to serve as Youth Pastor. In September 1993, Pastor Keith accepted the Senior Pastorate position. Pastor Keith and Darla have four children.
"Passion for God, Compassion for People!" is the phrase that encompasses Pastor Keith's vision for the church. When Jesus was asked which commandment was the greatest, he replied, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40 NIV. Our "Passion for God"
is increased primarily through two avenues - Worship and the Word of God. The wonderful presence of God is evident and felt during each worship service as well as an emphasis on the preaching of God's Word. A natural result of an increased "Passion for God" will be a "Compassion for People". It is Pastor Keith's vision that the church be known in the community for reaching out and demonstrating God's love in tangible ways.
It is our "Compassion for People" that also contributes to a high priority on missions around the world through prayer, financial support, and hands on experience.
The doctrine which distinguishes the Assemblies of God from other churches deals with one of its four cardinal doctrines; the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The Assemblies of God believes the baptism in the Holy Spirit gives believers several benefits as indicated in the New Testament. These include power to witness and serve others; a dedication to the work of God; a more intense love for Christ, His Word, and the lost; and the bestowement of certain spiritual gifts. (See Acts 1:4, 8, 8:15-17)
The Assemblies of God believes that when the Holy Spirit initially fills the believer, that person will speak in an unknown language as did the 120 believers in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost.
Our Primary Message: REDEMPTION.
While the Assemblies of God is noted for its Pentecostal distinctive, the primary message of the Church is Salvation. A belief that people can find forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who willingly gave His life for us. Because of Christ's love and forgiveness each person can be cleansed from wrong and saved from the real and impending Hell prepared for the devil and those who follow him. By accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and putting Him first in their lives, people are guaranteed an eternal home with God in Heaven. We believe this is the central message of Christianity and the key issue for man today. (See Titus 2:11; Romans 10:9-19; John 3:3-5)
Our Characteristic of Praise
Worship plays a major part in our church services. Freedom in worship is encouraged. Many will pray and thank God audibly during times of corporate thanksgiving and prayer. Some will pray silently, expressing little outward emotion, while others will weep openly before the Lord communicating their love and adoration in tears. Regardless of style, each sincere expression is welcomed. As these expressions of faith and love blend together in communication to God, each service will develop its own unique worship personality.
Common in most Assemblies of God churches is the clapping and raising of hands. Hand clapping often occurs during the singing of choruses. It is also used spontaneously in the adoration and love of God. Raised hands during times of prayer is another expression common in the church. to the believer it is an outward sign of surrender to God and His will. These visible expressions are not for show, but rather avenues for communicating with God. (See Psalm 47:1; 134:2)

Church Activities
LifeGroups are our small group ministry designed to help you build relationships and grow in your spiritual life with God. Most groups consist of 5 to 15 people that meet in group member's homes weekly.
LifeGroups are all about getting connected. In a church the size of Living Hope, it is difficult to know everyone, but you need to know someone. We all share a need to belong. Whether your need to connect is more social in nature, about spiritual growth or about finding a place to serve God with your talents and abilities, LifeGroups are the ideal place for you to connect.

Sam & Juliene Muhlbauer, Youth Pastor
I have been a Minnesota boy my whole life. I first started my relationship with Christ when I was five years old while attending a concert with my mom. From 8 years old on I grew up attending the Assemblies of God Church in St. Peter, MN. After I graduated high school I went to North Central University where I received a degree in Youth Ministry. After college I became the youth pastor at Delano Assembly of God. It was there where I met the woman of my dreams and had the privilege of marrying her in 2003. We have three wonderful boys, Carson, Kaden & Kaden. Ryland.
I also completed my Master of Arts Degree in Ministry Leadership with a Youth Emphasis at Crown College in 2009.
As a family we love to spend time together playing games, reading books, looking for garage sales, going to the zoo or park, and relaxing with a good movie. I am a huge Minnesota sports team fan and sports fan in general. I can get into watching almost any sport – gotta love ESPN! I strive to model my life after 2 Timothy 4:7-8 and I love working with students and seeing them take steps in their faith journey. If I ever get the chance, I would love to hear your story.
Jon & Kate Adams, Children's Pastor
Pastor Jon Graduated from North Central University in 1981. Jon and Kati been Youth Pastors at Crosby, MN and Faribault, MN for almost 5 years each. They were Kids Pastors in St. Cloud, MN for 5 years and Burlington, IA for 1 ½ years. He and his family were fulltime Kids Evangelists 6 years and are now Kids Pastors at Living Hope Assembly of God. Most of his philosophy of ministry is based on the four ways that kids need to grow - Mentally, physically, spiritually, socially. They try to provide ministries to kids that compliment these four areas of growth such as GodZ KidZ kids church, Junior Bible Quiz, Royal Rangers, Missionettes, Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade, special activities and outings, and leading a kids ministry team that ministers locally and to nearby states and Canada. Jon and his wife Kati have two married sons.
