It was 1997 when Gary Sinise and Kimo Williams first met and worked together on the Steppenwolf Theatre production of Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire. Williams was hired by director Terry Kinney to compose the score for the play and Sinise, a co founder of Steppenwolf along with Terry Kinney, was playing the role of Stanley Kowalski. It was during the technical rehearsals for the play that Gary and Kimo began to discuss their love for music and after learning of Gary's talents on the bass, Kimo invited him to his home for a jam session. Over the next few years, whenever possible, these two pals would play together with other Chicago area musicians and in 2003, as Gary began what has turned out to be an extraordinary commitment to the USO, it became clear that those early jam sessions had laid the foundation for what would become The Lieutenant Dan Band.
Following one of his many trips overseas to visit those serving our country, Gary asked the USO if they would allow him to take a band with him on a tour. The USO agreed, the band began rehearsing and in February of 2004, The Lieutenant Dan Band hit the road on their first overseas USO tour to Korea, Singapore and Diego Garcia. Since those early sessions at Kimos house, a few gigs for the troops in the Chicago area in 2003, and that first overseas tour, in the past seven years Gary and the band have played an average of 30-40 shows per year with a good 75% of those shows for USO, charities or benefits. This will be the band's sixth Rockin' For the Troops Concert!!
With a life long interest in music, this native of Statesville, N.C., has been singing and writing songs since the age of 14. After high school, he joined the Army, where he served for three years in the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg.
After leaving the military, he starting playing clubs and quickly earned an enthusiastic following for his crowd-pleasing live show and his chops as a lead guitarist. Lynne, whose electrifying concert performances have garnered him a fiercely loyal fan base, spent the better part of the last year touring and writing songs for his upcoming release.

One Band. ONE MORE TIME
As the story often happens, One More Time began as a group of friends playing in Naperville garages, basements and small bars. In the chaotic world or rock and roll in which the lifespan of most bands can be measured in months, OMT has defied the odds. The reason for such resilience could be that the founding members, Tom Schlueter, Rob Steininger and Bob Carroll, have not lost sight of the goal that they aspired to from their first show: to deliver heartfelt music and to ensure that that the audience has a good time.
One More Time is a rock band with a big sound, but one which wont hurt your ears. Currently, songs by the Beatles, John Hiatt, Carlos Santana, Foo Fighters, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Red Hot Chili Peppers turn up regularly in the repertoire. The Band prides itself on adding their own flavor to the accepted rock anthems and usually play them a little different each time. OMT performs a nice array of covers, but also includes original tunes written by band members. Miami Beach, a song about the desire to head south for good, was written by Schlueter and inspired by our brutal midwest winters. Its become fan favorite and is played at every performance.
Over the years, OMT has gone through a number of reconfigurations. In the summer of 2008, the band introduced another home grown Napervillian, Dick Kuhn to lend a hand on guitar and vocals. The addition of Kuhn has had a positive effect on the chemistry of OMT in relieving Steininger of the double duty role of lead and rhythm guitar in a three piece show. With the addition of Kuhn, the band has expanded its repertoire to include a few newer songs from the classic rock, if not contemporary rock, genre.
OMT is not content to rest. The band rehearses two hours every Sunday night in a local barn converted to a sound studio. We enjoy rehearsing as much as playing out on a job, Schlueter said. When people see us play live, were almost exactly like that in practice. That kind of dedication paid off with a charity fundraising gig this February at Buddy Guys Legends in downtown Chicago. It was a short show, but it was memorable, Schlueter said.
The band thrives on having a personal connection with its fans. A nation state in which the band and audience exist in a state of reciprocal appreciation. We want our fans to know that their appreciation is the driving force that keeps us evolving.
The band now appears at local venues like Frankies's Blue Room in Naperville and in some of the areas most pupular music festivals such as Napervilles Rib Fest and Last Fling events.
