This year we'll be looking at this concept. In the Fall we'll look at relationships--dealing with our identity, peers, parents and significant others. In the Spring we'll take a look at spiritual habits. Let's live fulfilled and escape the empty.

Winter Wednesday Message Series
HABITS
This 6 week series will look at various habits students can use to form a solid foundation for following God. We want to develop spiritual habits to grow on our own at home and school, not just at youth group. We'll be looking at the habits of tithing, Scripture study and memorization, accountability, and service. Each week we will have the opportunity to begin practicing a habit that will change our lives and draw us closer to God.

Children and Youth Ministries at Overland Park Church of the Nazarene
We desire at Overland Park Church of the Nazarene to partner with parents in communicating to children and youth God's great love for us, impressing upon children and youth a reverence and knowledge of God, and nurturing a personal, transformative relationship with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, as believers, children and youth are members of the body of Christ who are shaped by God's Spirit in the faith community.
Overland Park Church of the Nazarene
is called to be a community of grace that confesses "Jesus Christ is Lord." This is the charge God has given us as a worshipping community. We repeat it each Sunday as we prepare to leave and go into the world as a reminder of who we are and what we are about.

In worship we retell the stories of God--the stories of his deep, abiding and passionate love for us. Our response is a life that honors and pleases God in all we say and do. So whether we are singing a song of praise, reading a passage of Scripture, hearing a lesson, or praying together we seek to honor God with our lives. This is a night planned for us to invite new students, connect with one another, engage in our faith, serve one another with our gifts, and honor God in everything.
Pulse meets on Wednesday Evenings from 6:45-8:15.
Sunday mornings we gather together to study God's Word. There are usually two classes.
The Senior High Sunday School class meets in the youth room (room 301) at 9:45 AM. Pastor Michael leads the class through discussion, prayer, Scripture studies and more. We are currently going through Story .
The Junior High Sunday School class meets in the Student Center. Rachel Shald leads the class through games, prayer, discussion, Scripture studies and more.
Connect Groups are smaller groups for students to provide a safe place to be known, heard, cared for, and challenged in their faith. Connect Groups are formed by age and gender and help to make our large group feel smaller.

Pastor Michael De Haan
Michael De Haan joined the pastoral team at Overland Park Church of the Nazarene in September of 2007 and serves as Pastor to Youth and Families. Michael is currently a student at Nazarene Theological Seminary and is pursuing his Master of Divinity degree. His recently served as a Chaplain Assistant in the Army National Guard and in 2006 completed a tour in Iraq. Michael and his wife Amber were married in November 2005. Rachel Shald
Rachel Shald joined the Pulse Team in the Spring of 2010 and serves as a student mentor and Middle School Sunday School Teacher. Rachel is currently a student at MidAmerica Nazarene University and is pursuing her ministry degree. Rachel and her husband, Joey were married in July 2006.
Amber De Haan
Amber De Haan joined the Pulse team in the Fall of 2004 and serves as a student mentor and Connect Group leader. Amber graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2008 with a degree in education. She is currently teaching 7th grade math in the DeSoto district. Amber and her husband Michael were married in November 2005.
Jared and Ashley Mills
Jared and Ashley joined the Pulse team in the Spring of 2010 and serve as student mentors. Jared is currently a student at Nazarene Theological Seminary and Ashley works for FDC Contract. Jared and Ashley were married in June 2010.
