Kirsten Broberg Portrait
The ai ensemble and MIVOS presents a portrait concert of the young and internationally acclaimed composer Kirsten Broberg. This performance will feature three multi-movement cycles composed over the last five years. Resonant Strands for string quartet, piano and three bowed piano players explores the sound of the ensemble as one instrument. Waters of Time for Soprano, and chamber ensemble. Origins for winds and strings, features the clarinet. All three cycles were composed with the idea that each movement can be performed by itself but when played together as a single event they create a macrocosmic structure with interwoven musical connections.

MOSHEH: a video-opera in development by Yoav Gal
The multi-media opera, MOSHEH, re-enacts the biblical saga of Moses as an ancient-futuristic ritual. Created by Yoav Gal, whose style has been termed “Indie Opera” by New York Times’ critic Anne Midgette, this work presents the new aesthetic in the realm of opera. It has evolved in small spaces and with limited means, and draws on a wide palette of genres, such as performance art; video art; minimalism; modern dance and virtuosic singing. The work is currently in development at HERE Arts Center in New York, directed by Kameron Steele. for more info, visit HERE or Yoav Gal's site.
