ABOUT US About the Artist

OLGA OSI was born in Hungary, Europe where she became a teacher. After coming to Canada, she started a family and kept educating herself. She got familiar with the endless opportunities of digital photography. The main sources of her inspirations are nature itself and her spiritual experiences. Sometimes she uses digital alteration flowing into abstract as a personal expression and she is also familiar with the secret-revealing magic of macro techniques. She views the art of photography as an artistic process of distilling and re-electing the beauty of God’s creation into a personal vision. Her positive attitude of life is based on her faith, hoping that the beauty and love of life shines through her pictures and would touch the very soul of the viewers. About the layered technique:To create an image that has multi-layers, I use my own photos as a starting point. The other layers or backgrounds are made by artists who specialize in creating different handmade textures on canvas or richly textured paper and transfer them into a photo file that I can use. These textures can give various, exciting effects like grunge, canvas, old paper, rust, paintbrush strokes or soft touch as a dandelion fluff. Using Photoshop program, I carefully add my chosen layers with different blending modes, removing all the unnecessary details and letting the beauty of the important details show. I can also modify the hue setting to obtain the desired color shade or add certain filter effects to enrich my image. I really hope that the images presented with this special technique will please all of you and will keep the eyes of the viewers entertained by a visual feast.
