oldpolaroid
Once upon a time in the late summer of 2008....Oldpolaroid are from Sicily, Italy. The band was brought to life by Francesco Cipriano, because it was his (plus a pc) building Oldpolaroid core after a break with Lue, another sicilian rock-wave band where F. used to play bass guitar. Having a lot of time on his hands after he used the pc as a kind of band replacement. Then came Zoe Berlin and her husband Luca Chaz, relaxing from their marriage (and from living in a house with a lot of pets) and thus they became Oldpolaroid members. After some of those early home-recordings and by Francescos latent mysoginism were released a four tracks Ep titled Men Who Hate Women (however even a wonderful Stieg Larssons book had the same title), it became clear that this music should also be played on stage. Men Who Hate Women was recorded by F. who also mixed it. It was released as a home-recording product being obviously indiepop-song-oriented while still displaying a certain electronica aesthetic, and thus finding its identity in indie sounds. It also brought Oldpolaroid to the attention of a lot of wellknown fans and supporters of which some turned into collaborators. By now OldP are on air with the recent line-up who wish to join the project. The fervent efforts of OldP will make a next full lenght record will be published soon and which displayed a significant musical progression as they started playing with band which could not be heard on the first release. This helped shaping a yet more diverse and dynamic sound without neglecting OldP past regarding their indiepop compositions towards a more pure, decisive rock&roll results with a little bit of wave attitude
