Phase One -- Success in gardening and team development. Generate new ideas and hold a Garden Forum to obtain feedback.
Phase Two -- Building on experience, formulate a plan to create greater or total sustainability. Focus on increasing community involvement.
Phase Three -- Add to number of teams and space utilized. Focus on food production and teaching better methods. Share extra food!
The oksprout community garden has been operating since summer 2009 in Stillwater, OK.
We have found local partners, dedicated garden-volunteers and started growning in Spring 2010.
We hope to flourish into a chemical-free food production center and share with local food pantries from our abundant harvests.
Come be part of the story!
We are always looking for more gardeners. It does not matter if you have any experience! We will have many workdays across the next couple growing seasons, and your participation can help us succeed. If you are interested in forming a gardening team, please contact Adam.
We are looking for donations. There are many seasonal expenses like mulch, compost and seeds. We are also happy to receive in-kind donations. Please consider giving to the cause. Contact Adam for more details!
The full story of this garden is not yet written. If you have a dream goes hand-in-hand with ours, get in contact. You may want to do your own special project. We are open to an expansion of our vision. Do you want to demonstrate or teach? You could run a workshop. Individuals or groups wanting to make their mark on the garden are more than welcome to contact Adam to talk about their plans.

She has installed and maintains a demonstration orchard on the site which was 100% donated by Dave Wilson Nursery.
The oksprout project received a $500 award in the 2010 OSU Creativity Initiative Contest.
We look forward to showing the judges the success of our project!
Lowes Home Improvement gave us a generous discount on the materials for our water-well.
Stillwater Nature Supply has donated organic plants that are coming along nicely in our gardens!
This is an extensive project, but we remain pointed at the vision of sharing chemical-free food from the abundant harvests of our garden teams. We are in the early stages of this dream but are moving forward!
We seek to identify, develop and coordinate local resources to increase the capacity for sustainable agriculture activities in Stillwater. In addition to facilitating community garden locations, we are looking for ways to bring sustainable farmers and potential gardeners together for workshops on composting, garden management and environmentally friendly methods—creating a communication nexus where gardeners can organize, share information and percolate innovative ideas.
