TEAM ENTRY APPLICATION
The Calgary Oil & Gas Billfish Tournament is a catch and release event which is based on a point system per billfish with the team with the most combined points after 3 days of fishing being the winners of the tournament. Each team consists of 4 anglers & 1 Costa Rican angler, which will be supplied by the boat captain. Tournament will be 3 full days starting April 15. Each tournament day will start with lines in at 8:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm. All 3 days boats will be allowed to leave Herradura Bay no sooner than 6:30 am. During tournament hours the Costa Rican mate will be allowed to hook up all billfish but not fight the fish. Once the rod is passed over to another angler that angler has sole responsibility to boat the fish with no assistance from anyone aboard the boat. All boats, anglers, captains and crew will be required to carry a valid Costa Rican fishing license while participating in the Calgary Oil & Gas Billfish Tournament. Licenses may be purchased in advance of the tournament at the Los Sueños Marina office or at checkin/registration. Each participating angler, captain and mate will be required to sign a release form upon registration.
Tournament fees are priced per boat and include 3 days of tournament fishing, hotel rooms in San Jose upon arrival and departure, driver to and from San Jose and 5 star Los Suenos Resort & Marina, condo's during time of the tournament plus entry fees for the Calgary Oil & Gas 1st Annual Billfish Tournament.
