Gary Blumsack has become one the most prolific and influential theatre producers in Los Angeles over the last 20 years. In the 1990s Gary created both The Hudson Theatres and The Lillian Theatres, pioneering what would become known as Theatre Row in Hollywood. He produced a series of acclaimed productions, including the hugely successful "Reefer Madness" which went on to open on Broadway in 2001 with Jimmy Nederlander at the helm. As Artistic Director of The Hayworth Theatre since 2004, Gary has presented such critically acclaimed productions as "Not A Genuine Black Man", "Nowhere On The Border", "The Good Steno", "Walkin Through The Fire", "Havana Bourgeois", "Catskill Sonata", "Adam Baum and the Jew Movie" and "Frank Sinatra F*#ked Up My Life", which he also directed. Gary received an LA Weekly Award for directing "Sexy Laundry", starring Frances Fisher and Paul Ben-Victor. The award winning, "Lovelace, A Rock Opera" was presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2010 . Gary is currently developing a new musical entitled "Ed Wood Monsters of Hollywood" which will have its world premier at The Hayworth Theatre in the fall of 2011. Gary also developed Diary of a Dadman with Rick Najera, a one-man show about Najera's life which was presented at San Diego Repertory Theatre in 2009 and was the Executive Producer of the show when it aired as part of Showtime's LOL Comedy Series in January of this year.

Acting Classes
The Hayworth Performance Lab
A course dedicated to live performance. The actors will pick a play, scene or monologue, rehearse for eight weeks, create sets and lighting design in the 9th week, and perform in front of a live audience and industry in the 10th week. Each evening will be shot on video to be shown on the American Theater Channel. Taught by award winning producer and director Gary Blumsack, who recently executive produced a comedy show with Showtime.
"Gary Blumsack created an environment so supportive that I felt free to try anything I wanted; I could follow my impulses right up to closing night. The process for me was organic, and Gary stepped in only to suggest solutions when something didn't work. I had a ball!" - Frances Fisher (Titanic)
"Gary Blumsack has incredible insight into the actor's world. His many years of experience in the theater give him a profound knowledge and understanding of the material and many different approaches to attacking the work and nurturing the creative process. Above all, as my director, he was a joy to work with and to learn from." - Paul Ben Victor (The Wire, Entourage, In Plain Sight)
