Alpha Tau Omega is a leadership fraternity that develops today's students into tomorrow’s leaders. Alpha Tau Omega began as a tool to reunite the North and the South following the years of the Civil War. Our founding fathers saw the bitterness and hatred that followed the silencing of the guns and knew that a true peace would come not from force of law, but rather from with the hearts of men who were willing to work to rekindle a spirit of brotherly love.
Here at Northern Kentucky University, the Theta Omega chapter takes that belief and molds it to better the chapter and its brothers. The Theta Omega chapter is one of the elite fraternities on campus and we are very respected amongst the community, sororities, other fraternities and faculty. We value and maintain high levels in scholarship, integrity, character, athletics, but above all, brotherhood.
We work hard, we play hard.

WE ARE ABOUT BROTHERHOOD
Brotherhood. A word that rings strong through all chapters of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. But what does it mean to the Theta Omega chapter of Northern Kentucky University? It means dependability, trust and sacrifice. We depend, on one another to be there, in any situation. We have trust in each other to share our problems, misfortunes and the great times. When someone needs assistance, brothers of OUR brotherhood, have no reservations and are there in a snap. We sacrifice everything for the person to our right and to our left. No one in our circle is left unprotected or untended to. When you are accepted to our circle of unity, you are entering more than what a family by blood is, this is a family by deliberate choice. Making every bond stronger, longer lasting and more binding.
Brotherhood. What does it mean to us? Everything.
It takes a certain type of person to be an ATO, we do not accept just anyone. Being an ATO isnt just a membership, its a lifestyle. We take gentlemen of strong character and class; those who have respect for themselves and others, especially women. We don't broadcast how great we, we simply show it.We do far greater things than just play sports and party, but we definitely do our fair share of both. We are a leadership fraternity and will treat you with respect and challenge you to help mold yourself into a better leader. Graduating from college doesn't necessarily mean graduating from ATO; we are always life loyal Taus.
We invite you to come out to our Fall rush to see what we're all about. If you like what you see, give yourself a chance to be a part of the best fraternity on campus. If you commit to it, you will get more out of ATO then you could possibly imagine.
"ATO is hard to describe, its just something you have to feel."
-ATO alumnus Jared Moore

Community outreach is an integral part of what Alpha Tau Omega is all about. This year we are going to ensure that every member of the fraternity is doing his part to help out the surrounding area. To do this, every brother will be responsible for a minimum of twenty service hours. These hours will help Alpha Tau Omega build a strong connection with the community, but it will not only be individuals doing the work. As a chapter we will also help out the community. With over sixty members in our chapter, just a few hours will go a long way to helping those in need.
In addition to giving our time, Alpha Tau Omega also raises money for charity. Our annual three on three basketball marathon philanthropy raises thousands of dollars each year for breast cancer reaseaarch at St. Elizabeth Hospital. The three on three tournament lasts several hours and consists of co-ed and all mens tournaments as well as a penny war for each of the sororities on campus to compete in. This years tournament is set for March 20, and we look to have another great day.
