"The play called for sensitive and committed action from the lead characters, and Nicole Baker, as Emily, was a tour de force. Certainly, she displayed some of the best acting I have seen on the Pender stage, moving effortlessly from a young bright schoolgirl to a passionate and dramatic young bride, and culminating in her inspiring after-death scene." - Barry Mathias, director , Our Town
"In April 2009 I directed The Importance of Being Earnest for the Pender Solstice Theatre Society. Nicole Baker played the very demanding role of Gwendolen.
This was Nicole's first acting opportunity with Solstice and her performance was quite wonderful. Nicole has natural ability as an actress; she has a flare for learning lines and is a pleasure to direct.
I am currently directing rehearsals for Noel Coward's play Nude with Violin and I chose Nicole for the part of Jane Sorodin which is the most important female role in the play. Nicole is already setting an example by her grasp of the character and her facility for learning lines. I am sure this production will be successful and Nicole's performance will be a large contributing factor.
This is community theatre; but we strive for first class productions and I am sure Nicole would hold her own in any theatre company. --- Malcolm C. Armstrong
