Insta Set and Design
was established in 2010 by Nico Fourie. With the economic recession, he identified the need for more cost effective sets for the Television, Live Event and Exhibition Industries. Bottom line is, clients just don't have the budgets for sets that they used to have.
With his involvement in the industry the past 24 years he gained extensive experience in set construction and played a pivotal roll during this process and often had to give technical advice and do detail drawings to supplement the designs that he received from clients.
In 2010 he developed the "Insta Modular Set" concept that was launched in 2011 and is going from strength to strength. The goal of the concept was to make it more affordable for the client which will require significantly less set-up time than the old conventional sets did. The beauty of the concept is that it is lightweight, compact, modular and fully re-usable. Clients will not only be able to own the system with permanent installations but will also be able to hire additional pieces as required or alternatively hire a set outright.
Some of the project successfully completed worth mentioning is the Debate and Main Broadcast sets for the National Local Government Elections 2011. Demonstrating the benefit of the modular system is that parts of the election sets were incorporated in the new Morning Live set on SABC 2 that will be launched early November 2011. A large amount of sets were designed with the concept for the TPA (Angola National Broadcaster). Two high profile shows were book in Ghana towards the end of 2011 and a number of sets are in progress designed for video wrapping., a brilliant addition to the already existing system.
