Lyman W. “Nick” Nichols, Jr. has been the President of Nichols Land Services, Inc. since 1981 and is a third generation landman. He has a broad range of experience in oil and gas exploration projects (prospect preparation to pipeline), utility projects (feasibility studies through construction), along with extensive experience in acquisitions and divestitures. His strengths include structuring and managing projects to efficient completion, conflict resolution and negotiation, foresight to do the job right the first time, and building a team of experienced and highly capable industry professionals. He was named OCAPL Landman of the Year (2006), member of University of Oklahoma Energy Management Board of Directors (2000 – present), member of IRWA, OIPA, and OCAPL Fishing Tournament Coordinator (2003 – 2007).
Rory Barneche has over 30 years of practical oil and gas experience specializing in exploration and exploitation strategies and project management. He has worked most of the major producing basins of North America including the Gulf of Mexico on a diverse array of projects including conventional drilling, secondary and tertiary units, and horizontal shale. His experience also extends into mid-stream services including pipeline systems, compression facilities, and gas storage. Beyond oil and gas, his experience includes that of ranching, construction, and environmental remediation. Active in the Boys Scouts of America as a troop Scoutmaster, he is a Silver Beaver award recipient. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma.
James W. (Jim) Weber has 30 years of industry experience as an oil and gas attorney. After college (Trinity University - 1972), U. S. Army Officer (1972-1976) and University of Texas Law School (1976-1979), he moved to Oklahoma City for a career in oil and gas law, working for law firms, companies and as a sole practitioner, including working with Nichols Land Services, Inc. since 1991. He has worked mostly in oil and gas title examination and related land and legal issues. Jim is a member of the Texas Bar Association (1979) and Oklahoma Bar Association (1980) and past president of both OKC Mineral Lawyers Society and OKC Real Property Lawyers Association.
Terry D. Allen obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1982. Terry’s 26 years of experience has been with Gulf Oil and Chevron (13 years) and Red Rock Resources (13 years). Terry’s experience has primarily been in Engineering in Oklahoma, Mississippi and Texas.
James D. (Jim) Allen obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1984. Jim’s 14 years of experience has been with Conoco (10 years) and Red Rock Resources (4 years). Jim’s experience has primarily been in Engineering in Oklahoma and Texas. Jim also spent 9 years as Engineering Manager at Zeiger Industries in Canton, Ohio.

Gene W. Allen obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum from Oklahoma State University in 1958. Gene has worked in the oil and gas industry from 1958 to present representing more than 50 years of experience. Gene has worked for large companies such as Cities Service, Mobil Oil, and Kerr-McGee and smaller companies such as Harper Oil and American Exploration. During his career Gene has performed in a wide variety of areas of Engineering and Management with the majority of his experience in operations and drilling in Oklahoma and the Texas Gulf Coast.
Cindy Heinze has over 25 years experience in the energy industry, working primarily in Oklahoma and Arkansas. She has held various positions as an “in-house” landman for small to medium sized companies as well as supervising acquisitions and field landmen for Nichols Land Services, Inc. Mrs. Heinze graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1984 with a degree in Petroleum Land Management.
Prior to joining the Nichols Energy Advisory Group as a consulting landman in 2003, Pam spent 23 years at ONEOK Resources Company. Her management experience in land administration, division orders, and right of way ultimately led her to a career path as an "in-house" professional landman. In her capacity as a consultant, she specializes in acquisitions and divestitures, record checking, right of way, and title curative . She is a member of the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen.
