hpcrecords is a high-school based record label at Hauraki Plains College, New Zealand, that started in 2003. This year it is being run by a dedicated committee of students taking part in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme, a programme to get young people interested in business.

Less Is More CD Release Concert

Less Is More was a concert we held at Ngatea's War Memorial Hall on 13 July 2011 to release hpcrecords Less Is More concept album. It was an incredibly successful concert with the hall nearly filled to capacity, and we sold a large amount of albums on the door. If you missed out on going to the concert, we took video of it (we also were going to stream it live online, but that unfortunately failed) and posted it below for you to view.Update: On the night of 27 October 2011 the 2011 Waikato King Country Young Enterprise Regional Awards were held in the Bill Gallagher Centre at Wintec. We are pleased to announce that not only did our record company, hpcrecords win the SkyCity Community Trust Enterprising Music award, we also won the overall Wintec Waikato/King Country YES Regional award, which is a very exciting achievement. This means that we will fly down to Wellington to represent the Waikato/King Country at the New Zealand Young Enterprise competition, which will be held on 1 December 2011. There will also be an article in the next Waikato Business News. We wish to thank all involved, especially Mr Tate, Mr Green, Mrs Benns, our music mentor Mike Chunn and business mentor Donna Wells.
