As far as I’m concerned, WIX rocks(!), and I’m soon to be 66 years-old. First, let me say how much I LOVE working with you all.
Tell us about yourself and your business.
I am a retired senior who is having fun doing the creative things I always enjoyed but didn’t have time to do while working and rearing a family. So I now do simple websites for churches, nonprofit organizations, and persons struggling to get their businesses going. I’ve done a grand total of six websites counting mine that I’m now working on.
After 30 years of public service I retired from the job of Regional Forester (Senior Executive) of the Southwestern Region of the U.S. Forest Service. Now, my first love and main “job” is on the professional speaking circuit: I give motivational, personal accountability, and leadership talks based on my 30-year career in progressively responsible leadership jobs.
Why is having a website important in your industry sector? Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out? How has WIX allowed you to enhance your marketing/web presence? A well-indexed website with relevant domain pointers is especially important to my work. The search engines are my friends, and my most frequent referrals come from my website and word of mouth.
My original website has served me well for many years, but it’s definitely in the boxy template mode, and I need something with more “pop.” I was lucky enough to have a college friend of my daughter’s design it at her “college-friend-discount.” I certainly can’t afford to have it professionally re-done. Just look at what I’ve done so far in the redesign of my own site – look at the colours and the movement and the diversity message of the rainbow colours and the tub clipart and entrance of the name of my marquee speech. Then listen to the upbeat music, and I’m not done yet. You give me so many options for creating interest and making folks want to hang out on my site – I just love that mini-page book – the one where you turn the pages. I wanted to do something unique with what most sites (including my current one) boringly call “testimonials.” Have a lot of work to do to get that book consistent with the rest of the site, but I’m loving the process. You guys go ahead and feature it, and tell ‘em I’m working on it.
How did you hear about WIX?
So, you can imagine my excitement when late one night I was out “googling around” looking for design templates (yes, shame on me!), and I literally stumbled upon WIX. I was intrigued by the name, the word “free,” and when I saw some of the suggested sites, I wanted to try it. Of course, after spending the rest of the night playing around with possibilities, I was hooked. You got it: after investing time fiddling’, who wants to start all over again. That’s when I did the BJ’s site: (www.bjshairsensations.com) . It just kept getting better and better
What do you like best about WIX?
No question: the razzle dazzle of Flash; it certainly makes for much more interesting sites than the typical arrangements of squares and rectangles. I have long admired the sites of photographers and entertainers, and now I feel like I can do that, and I don’t have to learn “code” or struggle with FrontPage or similar difficult programs. You guys make it easy, and I feel so smart and creative.
II have 2 sites with you so far. One is “up” with Hostmonster: www.bjshairsensations.com . I did that one for practice and fun and think it turned out rather well. I keep tinkering, but yes, I’d like to have that one featured ALONG WITH my own website which I’m feverishly trying to finish, but which you may feature in whatever shape it’s in when you decide to do the story. The version I’ve finally picked is www.wix.com/grannygeek/est.04. I should convert it to premium by the weekend.
Conclusion: Thank you for the concept. Thank you for your staff. There may be 3 of you or there may be 300 of you; I can’t tell, and I’d love to know where in the world you are. Sheer and Elad are cool names – if they are real folks or even if they’re one and the same. Sheer has been particularly helpful and supportive. You all have my loyalty, and I’m spreading the word. I’m bumbling along – Granny Geek is one of my handles, but my competency level is a ways off from Geek. Still I’m having fun, feeling creative, feeling smart - even humming while I work. For a menopausal old broad working in the middle of the night, doesn’t get much better than that ANYMORE.

Mark Territory
My name is Hayley Wells and I have a freelance Graphic Design business aptly named Mark Territory which I have been working on for the last two years. I primarily design logos or corporate identity packages for business' as well as invitations and flyers. Anything that can be printed, I can design. I'm currently into my fourth year as a full time graphic designer and I love spending my days working with colors and fonts and pictures, creating visually appeasing and clever works of graphic art.
In this business it is incredibly important to have a website. Being a designer, it's very frustrating knowing what you want your website to look like and not being able to put it together. It's a terrific forum for potential clients to view parts of your folio and know the standard of work they can expect should they choose to use your services. Having a good/bad website can make or break a graphic designer.
I heard about Wix from a friend who had stumbled across it on the net. I didn't quite believe him when he told about it. It sounded too simple to be true. But sure enough, after five minutes of playing around he couldn't have been more right. That's what I love about wix; the simplicity.. It's just so easy to use and virtually limitless in terms of features you can incorporate into your web page.
Having a website has definitely enhanced my marketing strategy and being able to say that I designed it myself is a huge bonus as a graphic designer. No longer is website development out of my reach. I went from not having a website of my own to now being able to offer web design as a service to my clients!

I'm Sheila Schmotzer and I'm a dance studio owner in South Carolina. My studio is named Dizzy Dancing and although I have been teaching dance for many years this is only my 5th year running my very own dance studio. I teach Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Musical Theater to young dancers ages 3-up.
Why is having a website important in your industry sector? Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
Having a website has become a hugely important factor in marketing our studio, promoting our events, encouraging and continuously motivating our students as well as their families! I keep my website updated everyday to create a buzz and excitement that the young kids thrive on, "instant info"...Also maintaining the substance throughout the site for parents and prospective new students to gather and make decisions for their interests. I feel it is great to have a website to also connect with others that we meet from other studios, at competitions and through workshops! There is something for everyone to enjoy on our website making it a fun place to visit frequently as well as enjoy navigating through the different pages!
How did you hear about Wix?
I found a link for WIX on a fabulous web design site. The instant that I entered the Wix site I felt comfortable and loved what I saw....it was professional but with a simple, clear and direct format. I absolutely knew I wanted my site to look that outstanding.
What do you like best about Wix?
The very high tech look with flash integration that is so easy to achieve
I love the transparent glossy mirror style that is everywhere, everywhere, everywhere and now I can get that look with WiX !
How has Wix allowed you to enhance your marketing/web presence?
Absolutely! I have tried for years to speed up navigation and offer more updated web tools such as flash, easier and faster ways to present video, and present photos in more stylistic ways....with Wix I feel I have sooo many options and a ton of ideas to work with in the future when I want to change my website look. It is sooo exciting to think of all my new possibilities with WIX

How long have you been using Wix?
I am the project manager and marketing director for Sierra Veterinary Care, a veterinary hospital in Northern California and our company has just started using Wix. I have been a graphic artist for fifteen years and I have been waiting for something like Wix for most of that time. Wix is a very powerful and exciting web design tool.
How did you find out about us?
When I was assigned the task of building the website for Sierra Veterinary Care, I searched for a simple to use yet powerfully creative design software package that would implement our website quickly and without technical problems. I didn't find that software package but what I found was Wix. A simple Google search brought me to Wix, it fit my needs perfectly and I didn't have to purchase $600 worth of software that would be outdated by next year.
Had you tried other web building applications/used a web designer in the past?
I was an avid user of Adobe Golive to build my websites in the past and it was a great option at the time. Wix is just a better option in so many ways.
Tell us about how you decided to use Wix; and what were the product features that appealed to you and your business?
The design options and elements that Wix offers is beyond impressive. These are hip, current design elements, not just filler or useless options. The flash choices are very cool and tasteful. We operate a professional yet fun veterinary hospital and the flash provided a great platform to express ourselves. It is so easy to upload logos, graphics and images. The ideal for a web designer is to be able to be creative, to drag and drop and to just design, not to write code. Wix delivers in spades.
Have you found that Wix has allowed you to enhance your marketing/web presence?
No question! We have had so many great comments on our site. We are now excited to point people to our website and use it to educate our clients about our services, the equipment we use and basic veterinary medical advice. A website is a must in business and a bad website reflects poorly on good businesses. With Wix, even for the design challenged, it is hard to create a bad site.
Why is having a web site through Wix important in your industry sector? Do you feel that is allows you to compete better/stand out?
Wix has given us the edge to have one of the best veterinary websites in the industry. Wix is not a template based design tool and you can tell just by looking at a finished site. The template-based websites are boring, without personality and creatively dead. Any industry would benefit from Wix.
Would you recommend Wix to other small businesses in your industry?
I would rush to recommend Wix to anyone who wants a top level professionally looking and working website (not to our competitors, of course.) This is such great technology and I am excited to see what happens with third party applications and expanded widgets. The cost of the premium version of Wix is very inexpensive and a "no brainer" for the business level website. Do your business a favor and check out Wix.

I had tried coding a website on my own, but I just ended up frustrated with how much work it took for such weak results. Wix is definitely the easiest and fastest path to great looking web content. The end result goes way beyond anything I have tried before in a fraction of the time.
Because it is all free to play around with, I just got sucked into creating a website that looked great and was completely easy to modify. The best part for me: no coding!
Wix has absolutely enhanced the marketing for my photography/video business. I can direct potential clients to a professional website that has already gotten positive reviews for how good it looks.

Hi, I'm Maggie Adar. I opened my own studio a year and a half ago in which I design ladies handbags. I sell my creations in designer shops around the country, and in my own studio.
I wanted to have my website in order to show my work to others, and to promote my business. Also building the website myself gave me the ability to express my own style.
A friend who works as a site builder recommended it.
I like the fact I can be in control of what the site looks like , and having the ability to change it, add things, delete things etc' whenever I want. And it all happens fast. I like the large variety of design possibilities it has. And of course i like the fact it's free of charge.
As i just published my website a couple of weeks ago, I can't say it changed much. But! it already helps when I want to introduce myself to new shops, I send a link to my site, and they can see my work.

Hi WIX,
My company WESCO CCTV has been wanting to expand from installing security systems to Internet retail sales but we have had bad experiences with IT people, web designers, web hosts and so on. For example when our cost goes up on a product we cannot afford to wait 5 days for the "webmaster" to get a request finished on our website. That issue can cost us.
I am not a web designer or anything close to it. but look at the beautiful website I built with WIX
People have been blown away by it and cannot believe I built it myself.
Now we do not have to wait for and pay a "professional" when we want to change something on our site, I can do it myself, instantly, and the site never has to come down.
WIX ROCKS !
Even though not 100% finished we launched the site February 23rd.
