No one can believe this site was built with Wix!
I have an amazing story about how I discovered Wix! When I started my company, I paid a
website development company $600 to build my website for me. I had created all the graphics and page designs and just needed them loaded to the web as well as create some flash designs for the site.
This turned out to be a huge disaster! I was told that my project would be completed in approximately one week.
After five weeks, I was sent back all the half-finished site pages which they created with no flash content and told that I would have to pay more money to complete my project.
It took many hours out of several days to try and explain exactly how I wanted my site created. So there I sat with $600 spent and nothing to show for it. Wix was introduced to me by a friend and within 5 hours, I had created exactly what I paid a team of professionals to build for me.
For someone with no html code and script writing ability, Wix has truly been a dream come true! I owe a

My name is Shannan and after many years of searching for the perfect profession I have started a virtual assistant business. When I say virtual assistant, a lot of peoples eyes gloss over. What on earth is that? they ask. And Im so glad when they do ask because it gives me an opportunity to talk more about it!
As a virtual assistant, I help with day to day *stuff*, which can be as simple as arranging travel plans or as detailed as writing a political speech. I help with Website content writing, I write blogs and draft editorials, I return phone calls and Emails, I brainstorm on ways to help my clients achieve their goals. Thats the beauty of being in a virtual business, my services can be customized depending on the need, my clients pay only for my time worked rather than having to pay a full-time staff position and I do it all virtually. I am a life-long learner. I have a BA in public relations and a MA in public policy. I have been to design school, am a realtor, am finishing up social marketing specialist training, and graduated from AssistU. I love to learn and love helping and meeting new people in my new profession.
Why is having a website important in your industry sector?
Having a Website is crucial. But not just any Website, its got to be vibrant. Its got to show who I am through its content and layout. I work virtually, which means that most often I will never meet my clients face-to-face. So, they know me, at least initially, through only my Website. Its because of these reasons that when my husband and I were looking for Web designing programs we picked Wix. Nothing else compares.
Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
Having a Website is the minimum. Having a great Website helps me to stand out. Then its up to me to keep my clients happy with my professionalism and thorough services.
How did you hear about Wix?
My husband actually designs Websites. He found Wix initially and was really impressed with the wide selection, artistic features, flexibility to make it original and its affordability.
What do you like best about Wix?
To me, what really set Wix apart was the artistic capabilities; both with the templates and the selection of possibilities when designing a Website from scratch. Believe me, we looked at a lot. Nothing that weve seen compares with Wix.
How has Wix allowed you to enhance your marketing/web presence?
I finally have a Website that Im proud of. And, Im already on Google! It took less than two weeks to show up. I had been warned that Flash Websites wouldnt show up on the search engines. Whatever language Wix has in its program, works.
Having a great Website is an essential to running a successful business in todays technologically savvy world. But, I work virtually and its not possible to even do business without a Website. We have known Lanzarote island since the late 1960's and have lived here permanently for the past three years.
As the worldwide recession hit so tourism went down and many people lost their homes and businesses and were forced to re-locate to their home countries. My partner and I have been thinking hard about what we could do to re-invent the island and it was there all the time. The island speaks for itself but someone needed to give it a voice.
Living here has been one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. Nowhere is quite as liberal, tolerant and accepting as Lanzarote. As gay men we were worried about being accepted, we need not have been. The island has a freedom of thought that is sadly not found in many places in the world today.
So we thought, if we love it, let's tell the world about it. We are gearing our promotion towards the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community because we seriously believe that if you are looking for a great holiday in an attitude free society then there's no better place. Here you can feel free to be who you are and nowadays that is a very precious kind of freedom.
We hope that if the site takes off we'll be able to help the gay community come together on the island and want to start some local community projects. For example we are trying to get into the island council to talk about a community centre for young people.
It's daunting and exciting and exhausting because what started off as an idea for pocket money became and route to help tourism on the island and with that came a responsibility to support the resident community in any way possible. So we'll have to see what happens next but we are very optimistic at the response so far and look forward to going from strength to strength. If it's meant to be it will happen!

We heard about Wix purely by scouring the net for a suitable site that would allow us to build our site online. A few years ago I tried Cabanova but Wix is so superior in every way I'm sticking with you forever!
What do I like best about Wix? Everything! and the fact that it is search engine friendly is vitally important for us.
Wix allows us to enhance our marketing and web presence because it is so flexible and take us away from traditional web formats to something much more dynamic. Basically I'm doing this business in order to survive. If i don't earn money, means i can't eat. Designing is one of my ability, and i want people to wear my design. Even though my designs are not stunning enough like other people, but i manage to sell some t-shirts with my design using door to door method.
To open my own shop requires a great amount of capital. I can't afford that. The only way for me now is to open my online store. But hiring a web design team to create stunning website also require huge amount of money. With Wix, i created stunning website by myself without having to take web design class.
For now my business is only about t-shirts. But hopefully in near future, i can produce more items like jackets, bags, etc.
I want the world to know about my business. Also, i want to reach more customers around the world.
I have confidence it will, and Ive only been doing this e- commerce for 1.5 months.

My site is breadmckinney.com , it is the first site I have ever created and I am still tinkering with the layouts but I couldnt be happier with how easily I am learning with the wix program. It is helping me take an idea and turn it into a reality.
I am creating a community based bakery/bookstore that will use portions of the profits to donate bread and build a library in communities that are not only hungry for food but also for knowledge.
I am using wix to create a website to not only get the word out about what we are trying to do but to get enough email pre-testimonials from people excited about the idea to show the investors that there is a market for such a business. The more people I can get to visit the page and send in an email the more potential we have to make this concept a reality, and the better chance we have to provide hope to people all over the world.

Hi there! This is Gary, Choi Wai-Bun, a product designer from Hong Kong. I started as a product designer in a local company after graduation from School of Design, in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I started working as a freelance designer in 2008 after working in different companies for 5 years; meanwhile I explored my interest in other creative fields, such as illustration and T-shirt design.
Most of my clients now are from the trading and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) field, in a highly price competitive business environment, they need good design to juice up products and ideas. Sometimes I also work with design consultancy, in that way I can get in on some projects in a larger scale and work with designers from other fields.
In Hong Kong, most of the companies have their in house design team; good design has been a very effective way to enhance ones competitiveness. No one would pay to hire or work with someone they dont know about. As a freelance designer, I have to demonstrate my creativity and flexibility, so a competent and professional image is vital to getting business. With a good website built up, the potential customers get to know about me and my work, they might find what they have been looking for in my website, and most importantly, it bridges me and the customers with ease.
It definitely strengthens my identity, so getting new opportunities is becoming easier from both local and global perspective.
I was looking for free web hosting service and online gallery to upload my online portfolio then I found Wix from a search engine.
I was impressed by the gigantic website templates, and enormous effects that it can generate with just a few clicks! The potential that it can be fully customized is very attractive to me.

I am a graphic designer and also work as a holistic therapist for Feet First Foot and Health Clinic in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England.
The owner of the clinic needed a website to advertise their new Foot College to train Medical Foot Practitioners. I already had a website, so I was volunteered to help!
I saw a BBC computer programme which mentioned a website called wix.com,
which said you can create stunning, free flash websites. I went online and I was hooked!
It was totally different to most template websites, which only usually let
you change the odd photo. With wix you can concentrate on the design as
there are no restrictions, and the effects and animations add to the
professional look of the website.
I adapted an existing template to include the colleges information, and
added discreet animations, links and the free photos from Flickr and wix
were a fantastic feature.
Getting the website on Google was very easy, we are now in the top three. I had a few how-to questions, and they were answered promptly by the wix team.
Our website stands out from the crowd and we are all very pleased with the
results. It can be updated at any time and have recently included the
comments widget - wix are always adding to their many features.
I am currently designing my graphics website and producing another for a
friend - using Wix of course!

I am Jessica Beebe, owner of The Stapelia Company and purveyor of art and photography that is inspired by spy novels, urban grit and dark and nefarious carnivals. The Stapelia Company gets its name from the Stapelia Gigantea or "corpse" flower and like its namesake, strives to produce pieces that are beautiful with a dark twist. Stapelia products are available online and in select stores and galleries and commissioned pieces are welcome.
For many artists today, having an online presence via a portfolio or personal website is essential. Potential clients and customers who want to see your work can easily go to your website and peruse at their leisure before making a decision. For my business (which combines art and retail), I use my website to unify my various online presences, display my work, direct customers to my store and give potential customers a way to contact me.
I think having a personal website that's aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate definitely gives me an edge.
