A friend of mine promised to design a webpage for me nearly two years ago. That promised was never realized.
A Few weeks ago my brother told me about Wix.com and he said "Now you can design your own page". I joked and said "Of course".

My name is Jason Lands. The purpose of my website is two fold: to promote by Graphic Design and Web Development business, and as an information-base for my ministry (Jason Lands Ministries). Using my wix website, I have the ability to display my portfolio of graphic design elements, and websites that I have created. Secondly, through my website, I can provide information about my ministry, sell my products, and receive feedback and invitations to speak.
Why is having a website important in your sector? Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
Having a website is extremely important, because of our media-driven culture. Having a website is helpful, because I can simply provide my web address on my business cards, and it gives the recipient the ability to view my website, and receive information about myself, my services, and products.
How did you hear about Wix?
I found Wix through a web search on Yahoo! I was searching for a service that offered in-expensive websites, yet still providing all of the premium web content that makes modern websites what they are.
I definitely found what I was looking for with Wix!
What do you like best about Wix?
I particularly like the ease of use with Wix’s online editor. It literally only took me 10 minutes to learn how to use! I also like the ability to provide different forms of media on the website. All of this, bundled together with the low cost, where could I find better?
How has Wix allowed you to enhance your marketing/web presence?
Using Wix has allowed me to display my graphic design and web development portfolio in a way that is fresh and interesting. In addition, I am able to allow my visitors to listen to my music, and even order my CD’s using PayPal. Everyone I come into contact with tells me how professional my website looks.

A Dogs World
I'm a dog lover, and I love searching the internet for dog websites, but I could never find any good ones. I decided to make a website where dog lovers can come, and view pictures, videos, and more cool things all related to dogs. My site is called All About Dogs, and I started creating it in November of 2008. I also spend a lot of time with my dog, Tawny. (she's on the front page in the slideshow)
Why is having a website important in your industry sector? Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
My website is important to me because I can show everyone about interesting dog news, without having to look in a million different places. It allows me to stand out by adding slideshows, mini pages, and more features that the other sites don't have, making it a great site, and easy to get around.
I heard about Wix by searching the web for easy site builders.
I like that Wix is fast, making it easier to do things, and it doesn't freeze or glitch up.
Wix easily publishes anything I save instantly, so I can quickly update anything I need to.

I am the Founder of Child United, an organization dedicated to promoting education to impoverished children in third world countries. We do this by providing Sponsorship Programs to children wanting to continue school, donating much-needed school books and supplies and helping poor families with basic necessities. All of this is to encourage education in times of desperation, to help end the cycle of poverty.
Why is having a website important in your sector?
I feel that this website is important because it helps raise awareness about the problems third world countries. This is a reality that many families face and the children poverty affects.
Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
Yes, I have experience in creating websites using HTML programs and other CMS software. I initially created www.childunited.org <http://www.childunited.org/> in a Dreamweaver program using GoDaddy to host my site. I will say with the widgets, graphics and flash capabilities, this site has dramatically improved in the way it presents its information.
This website is also number one in google and yahoo searches now. Before joining wix, it was always the 9th or 10th item down on the search list.
How did you hear about Wix? Internet searching for a better CMS program.
What do you like best about Wix? The flexibility and easy use of the program.
Like i said, it has put me in the top searches on Google and yahoo. It has also given me the ability to show my photos in such a creative way.
I love wix for everything it has provided and it has gotten better and better with the addition of PayPal buttons and widgets. I will be using Wix for a long time and haven't seen anything like it in on the internet. It doesn't compare to all the others I have used and experimented with. Thanks for the tools. I love them!

My most recent project I am trying to create a wave by offering Talks and Workshops relating to World Co-operation, starting with themselves (in the workplace, in the home environment, in all areas of their life great for team building and conflict resolution). Totally out of my comfort zone once again but courage is needed for all of us to step up.
My business is a combination of Natural Therapies and Personal Development my mission is to create a safe, harmonious, supportive environment wherever I treat or speak, with my focus on my outcome at all times to bring about change in the world, by constantly changing myself and help others do the same.
I found out about Wix from my partner, after many months of frustration trying different so called easy site builders. (Technology is not my strength). I found Wix the easiest and fun site to play with (there were a few hiccups, but the support has been fantastic I get treated like a Person whos strength is not technology, rather then an idiot much appreciated), giving me support and courage to keep trying.
I love all the colors (I express through color and sparkle as we all shine), giving me an opportunity to enhance my web presence my way. When I first started out, I was influenced by colleagues to make it more corporate looking to be more professional, but my beautiful Marketing Head daughter reminded me to be myself, (she didnt like my corporate attempts, she said they did not represent me and looked too sales), so Wix was fantastic, giving me the ability to be expressive and DIFFERENT, which I hope stands out as a fun and genuine website.

I came across Wix.com while looking at and understanding/learning html and on how to build a website.
I have an artistic and creative flair or so I'm told..... I was asked to build a website within a three week time frame and I automatically accepted the challenge.
After looking at the amount of information I had to learn in order to scratch the surface of building a half decent site I began to have serious doubts on fulfilling the request!
I was saved at the end of the day by finding Wix.com !!! A God send really...
Wix.com has allowed me to use my skills of creativity on building a very appealing and an alluring site. The whole process was a breeze and has saved me not only the time in learning the 'nuts and bolts' of website construction but by making my customer a very happy person !

My name is Anthony Viggiano and i am the founder of a start-up called KnoBiz. Its a small business consulting company that helps small organizations with any technology or business matter they may need help with.
I recently moved from Upstate New York to Central Connecticut and had to find a new church. Once we were settled in at Valley Apostolic Church, I quickly learned that a website was one hole the ministry was trying to fill, and I happily offered to help.
I believe every organization should have a web presence to some extent, and it is just as important for a church. A church should have a website for the standard information people need before visiting such as hours and directions. What is also very important is for the visitor to learn what the church is about and what they believe so that they can be prepared for what they are about to experience.
The website gives the church much greater visibility and helps us stand out. When people start searching for a church in their area, ours is one of the top results, whereas before, the only way people would find out we existed was word of mouth or other low-tech methods.
My younger brother, who is starting his own Branding Company , stumbled upon Wix one day as he was searching for resources to help him create his website within Adobe Dreamweaver. He played around with it for a bit and knew I wanted to create a website of my own, so he told me how cool it was. I tried it and immediately fell in love with how easy it is to create a stunning Flash site with no huge investment in the time and money it takes to buy and learn other Flash software.
My favorite part about Wix is that it is the unlimited possibilities it presents and creativity it opens itself up to. Without Wix, I would have never been able to create the masterpieces I have now.
Wix has opened the door to the web for me and Valley Apostolic Church. When people search for a church, they can easily find our church and learn everything they’d like about it to help them decide to visit.

Having a website in the dance industry is important because perspective parents will first search the web before entering the studio or dance space. A website tells a story of how the business got started and where its future is headed. Parents can get a feel as to whether or not a business is professional, fun or extremely disciplined just based off how their website is set up.
I do feel that having Wix has allowed me to stand out. Although I am quite new to the area, I hope perspective parents will see my website and feel it expresses fun, energy and professionalism. I look forward to seeing how my Wix website helps my business grow.
I was looking for free web design options and voila! Here I am!
What I like best about Wix is not only do they have a great selection to choose from (i.e. backgrounds, clip art, animation, etc.) they also allow the user to upload their own pictures or backgrounds. I think this helps personalize the website even more. It allows the user to be very creative.
Having Wix has allowed me to promote my business in a fun an inventive way. Marketing can be a difficult skill to attain if you have not taken the appropriate classes. However, Wix allows the user to create a multitude of options when designing their website. Through this creative process I have found my brand.
