Why is having a website important in your industry sector?
As Qantas listed Yoga by the Sea one of their TEN TOP THINGS TO DO IN SYDNEY, the Wix website provides information & schedules for locals as well as tourists alike. The main draw card is the view at Yoga by the Sea, so the gallery was a great way to show-off the locations of the classes.
Do you feel it allows you to compete better/stand out?
Our last website was a splashpage which was outdated and difficult to find your way about. Comparatively, the new Wix site has many pages, separating schedules, pricing, locations etc. which makes it a lot easier to understand.
And Lots of options and lots of possibilities with design. Easy to understand, even for technophobes.

We are young and dynamic professionals working in the fashion industry. We decided to build a business that helped people. With that in mind, we built "Backpacks&Stilettos." It's an image consulting and life coaching firm that targets young people, and adults who would like to find the best versions of themselves. As far as we're concerned, we're the only firm that provides a unique take on this industry.
The image consulting sector is lacking with professional websites. The reason we got into this business is to provide a fresh and innovative take on image consulting and, also, life coaching. Every site that a firm has is constructed poorly. We believe that a website is a great reflection on the business itself.
Yes. We've spoken to some web developers but they weren't able to provide us with a website that was professional and amazing for our budget. Wix was a God send. No image consultant or life coach has a flash website like ours in Canada... or the US.
I found out about WIx while searching for art on the internet. An artist used it as her porftolio.

Hello, my name is Martha Salazar. I create fun and comfortable children items for those who prefer the unique and handmade for the little ones in their lives. I recently launched Squidkid, which is the brand name I use for all my handmade creations.
I started selling my products online on my Etsy Shop only but I knew that I needed my own website to have a better presence in the market. I think having my own site and my own domain gives more formality to my business and independence to choose what people see when they go to my site. There were certain characteristics that I knew were essential for my website such as giving my customers the ability to purchase products right there. I dont know anything about html or any other kind of programming and I was scared of how expensive it was to get someone to create my site. Most domain registrars offer a web builder with templates and after trying a few I found them very complicated, I started to get very frustrated.
I found out about Wix by word of mouth, my best friend told me about it and she also mentioned a special price being offered at the time. So I decided to take a look. I was pleased to find out the builder is free with no day-limit. I was fascinated by how easy it was to create, edit, and publish the content of my website, I liked the drag and drop system so much that I stopped looking and started working. Of course I started with a template which I kept editing using lots of all the creative elements you can find in the builder, adding pages and info. Playing around with all the features until I got what I wanted. My favorite part was that the shopping cart was already there I just had to add my product pictures and personalize it! Building my site in Wix was as easy as a click!
Now I use my own domain with a website that I created myself! Wix is helpful, simple, practical, and economic. I couldnt be happier.

I'm Jason based in Leeds, United Kingdom although I'm about to up sticks and relocate to my birthplace Auckland, New Zealand. I've been involved with the design industry for about 15 years on and off but the past 5 years have been intense from a career perspective because I've honed my 3D CAD (computer aided design) skills as much as possible - heavily concentrating on producing photo-realistic images aka as renders.
I love designing, my spare time often involves working on projects for myself or others - it's simply an addiction for me. Interests outside of design are diving, as in technical diving (scuba for those scratching heads) although I'm still trying to weigh up the costs of a rebreather having completed yet another course a few years back.
My Wix website came about because, unfortunately, my previous company were literally crippled by the recession and forced into administration leaving many, including myself, out of a job. So whilst seeking new employment my days were spent developing a website for something I'd wanted to do for some time now and that is to offer a design service with a difference to the retail sector.
My first port of call was to buy a template.
I wanted a clean flash type template to represent my ideas - I like clean sites and an obvious template supplier is Template Monster. Fantastic looking sites available with fair prices but with one major problem - you must have several software applications in order to amend the templates to upload them etc etc (such as Dreamweaver, Flash, CS etc). This all costs money and time, lots of time. I use several software applications to acheive my results and I appreciate the web designers who have invested their time and money for their talents. So buying a template wasn't an option and it was at this point my Google search listed Wix.
I'm typical of a bloke in that I play about with the new TV I just bought and read instructions as and when I need them. The discovery of Wix was no different to me and I found myself understanding Wix within minutes and producing my first attempt at a test website within an afternoon. If anybody has tried Dreamweaver with HTML or CSS then you could barely get through a simple tutorial in an afternoon!
I mean to have a functioning flash website in an afternoon developed by a self confessed newbie was incredible. I'II be honest now, it was at this point that I started to research the forums to gain feedback from Wix users already, to view their websites, to weigh up the pros and cons. This was important to me because Wix really looked too good to be true and forum feedback normally gives good advice, especially towards the developers of the application.
The forums also have many experienced web developers, designers etc. whom praise the Wix concept and this finalized my decision to develop the site that I'd wanted for many moons. I spent the next day sketching my site out, reading through some of the instructions for the Wix tools, windows etc. and set about developing the site - undericedesign.
As with all developing software there are 'glitches' sometimes within the program, but if you spend some time trawling the forums others have more than likely found ways around any 'glitches' there may be. This is what I do with all my software opposed to trying to contact the developers making demands etc., just spend 5mins and you're usually sorted (saying all that I'm sure there aren't many 'glitches').
To cut a long story short I spent the day after cropping my images knowing that any image on a website equates to slow loading times.
I've noticed many sites taking sometime to load most of the time, in my opinion, because eager Wix designers want all the flash stuff and sounds and buttons possible thinking this will enhance their site/work - well it wont so keep it simple. My site loads quite quickly because there is limited flash etc to slow things up. And if you like my site it's possibly because the visual content, whether you like it or not, is so 'in your face' - that is to say the visuals take up a large percentage of the screen optimizing the experience. http://undericedesign.com was then launched.
Wix is what I needed to develop my ideas, my website and ultimately a sustainable business. Wix allowed me to quickly get things up and running. I simply didn't have the time to waste trying to learn flash or CSS to get what I wanted, a professional clean website to broadcast to the world wide web.
Without Wix I reckon I honestly wouldn't even have the beginnings of a website, yet alone a completed site that I'm really excited about, even now!
I've no problem subscribing to Wix because they have developed, in mine and many others opinions, a professional user friendly software application that individuals like me have been screaming for. Wix have opened the floodgates to anbody wishing to exploit themselves on the web without heavily investing in many software applications.

Hi There, I am a musician/artist who owns a small recording studio outside of Chicago IL. I have long been wanting a website to promote both my music as well as my recording business. I have struggled for years between paying thousands of dollars for a professional to build my site or using the typical made easy web page builders which always end up looking cheap and amateur. That is until a friend told me about Wix.com
I logged onto Wix.com and literately that same day (at 2:00 am in the morning) I had completed my website for my small business. I could not believe how easy wix made it and yet how professional the outcome was.
The on-line editor is both easy to use and complex with its numerous effects and behavior options, and its comprehensive collection of high quality clip art.
After waiting years to take action.. With in 48 hours I had built my own small business website, personal promotion website and completely revamped my MySpace page. I upgraded my account to premium and Wix showed me step by step how to link my page to my go-daddy domain names. This is something I did not know how to do and web design company's charge hundreds to do. I also track my websites activity with Google analytics which Wix makes very easy to do. When I want to make changes I simply log in, open the Wix editor and save any changes I make. They are immediately posted to my page.
I am now a completely independent webmaster and finally in control of my E business..

We own a small company, the Standard. We plan social events and nightlife in the Tampa Bay area. Our Target Niche is the young urban Professional, we recently had our first official event this past weekend.
It's important because we can use it to show the community what we are doing, our next events, our past events etc.
Although we are a new company, it has allowed us to stand out from some of the older companies in the area who have no sites at all. It also means that we have an immediate way to show people who we are and what we want to do in the industry.
I saw another friend of ours who had a Wix site. I thought it looked nice and that perhaps "Wix" was the name of a webmaster but when i clicked the link i saw that it was a site that we could use for our company's website.
it's very easy to use and makes thing look professional. We've gotten compliments on the site from Media Professionals.
Wix, allowed us to create an immediate presence. In a matter of three days I created our website and we went from being just a conversation to an actual company in the eyes of our peers and competitors

Although this is a hobby application and not a business, having a website is just as important for all of the same reasons a business would want one.
In our case, we are promoting an Amateur (Ham) Radio expedition to northern Canada in preparation for an international competition called CQ World Wide. And although our operation is at present very modest, we have ambitions to grow larger in the future and felt that having a website was the best way to create excitement and awareness about our expedition. Many of the really big expeditions in the past have had an on-line presence and thanks to WIX we now have one, too.
Absolutely! Having an attractive, engaging website is one thing, but WIX goes well beyond it with the coaching you provide on meta tags, keywords and gaining visibility in the search engines. Since taking our WIX website live I have received comments from all over the world form people who have found the website.
I received an e-mail from the WIX team inviting me to try it out. It probably came from one of the online professional communications publications that I read.
It is very easy to use and to get fantastic results. I have written HTML code and managed intranet websites for my (former) employer, and have done my fair share of graphically rich e-mail marketing, but have never found anything as easy or as intuitive to use as WIX.
WIX has taken our online promotion and presence to a different level. Our WIX website has given us far more professional results than we could have gotten anywhere else. The slick interface and use of Adobe Flash technology gives our website a look and feel that raises the bar on our competition.
Our application is "just a little bit on the esoteric side" being that it is for a relatively low-visibility radio enthusiast hobby that we are promoting. Did you know however that there are more than 500,000 Amateur (Ham) Radio enthusiasts in the US, and more than a million of them world wide? And that nearly all of them (or a very high majority) of them are internet enabled? We are very appreciative to have the opportunity to use WIX to reach them.

( Our WIX website is hobby related, and designed to support an Amateur (Ham) Radio competition that our team has done for the past 6 years. For the competition we make an expedition as far north into eastern Quebec as the paved roads go -- 1,000 miles north of Philadelphia, PA.
WIX has helped us promote our expedition and generated a lot of interest, so a big "thank you" to the WIX team from the VE2DXY Ham Radio team for providing the inspiration.
When I first heard about WIX my curiosity was raised, and I created a website about our expedition just to see what could be done.
