My story...
When I was about ten years old, I taught myself the basics of digital video by recording to VHS-C, and editing with two old VCRs. After several years of experimenting, I moved from my humble town in Virginia to study Film and Television Production at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I graduated in 2008 with a BFA, and a passion for Cinematography.
Directly out of college, I moved to New York City seeking a career in the independent film business, but instead, I began by working on infomercials along the New Jersey shore. A little bit different than what I anticipated, but things looked up from there. Months later, I found myself working as a multifaceted freelance crew member along the east coast for Corporate, Commercial, and Narrative works.
In the commercial world, some of my clients include Zagat Survey, John Robert Powers School System, Prep 4 Bedbugs, and Demand Media. I have partnered with People’s Sketch Association to produce various sketch comedy webisodes. I also often work with NYC Fashion Stylist, Amy Salinger, producing fashion video content for the web.
My narrative works as Cinematographer include several music videos by Melyssa Vazquez, the award winning short film “Reverie” directed by Paula Wood, Official Selection of RIFF “No Land” by Robert Gregson, and “Bout” by Robert Michael Chrisco.

Canon 7D Kit
The new wave of video DSLR cameras has been making a very strong impact on productions large and small. The Canon 7D offers 1080p HD quality at 24fps. It also allows for slow motion undercranking up to 60fps. The greatest advantages that this camera has to offer are the excellent lens options and low-light capabilities! My kit includes a 17 - 40mm zoom and 28-135mm zoom lens as well as a z-finder and other cool acccessories.
Panasonic AG-HVX200 Kit
The HVX200 is highly respected among the video community as a small but versitile camera, allowing users to design custom gamma settings to their picture, along with many other fully manual controls that are vital to professional videography. The camera shoots best at 720pn, but also allows for 1080i. Frame rates include 18, 24, and 60. My kit includes a selection of lens filters, tripod, camera light, and one 16gb P2 memory card. The camera can also record to miniDV if pereferred.
Audio Gear
Sound isn't my specialty, but in the case of a small crew, I find these simple tools come in handy quite often! My sound kit includes a Zoom H4n Audio recorder, one wireless lav system, and a short shotgun microphone with fishpole boom.
Shooting On-The-Go!
Let's talk practical. You're shooting on the top of a mountain, only accessible by hiking trails. Now... how the heck do we get our gear up there!? I've done it, and having the right tools will save you! Many of my projects have involved "shooting on the go", and I kind of enjoy it!
Lighting Kit
I have to admit, my collection isn't exactly the largest, but if you're looking for a simple lighting package, I may have just what you need. My kit includes three 650w Arri Fresnels plus three 300w Lowel Totas, five kit stands, one c-stand, chinese lanterns, sandbags, and a ton of nifty accessories.
