It all begins with the brief. Irrespective of scale and budget we place a large amount of emphasis on the process of defining the brief through discussion and exploration of ideas.
With a clear understanding of the user's requirements and a clear objective, we develop a process aiming to exceed our client's expectations through design and building process right through to the finished scheme.
It is important to us that every project is approached with a fresh pair of eyes, whilst drawing upon past experience.
Nadia Oulevay Architects is based in North London and is a young and fresh thinking practice. We focus on creating the perfect balance in providing architecturally inspiring buildings as well as keeping an eye on the buildability of the project.
With an interest in the real, our buildings aim to be rooted in place. We consider the subtle qualities found in occupation of spaces and seek authenticity in construction, where materials are expressed truthfully.
Nadia Oulevay Architects has it's main workload in the residential sector. Nevertheless, we aim to maintain a rich mixture of work to avoid the restrictions of exclusive specialisation. Our ability to generate interesting propositions in response to difficult sites and complex programmes is constantly tested through a number of competitions.
Nadia Oulevay Architects works closely with clients and consultants to develop inspiring and sustainable building projects.
We are serious about achieving quality in our work. This is reflected in the way we work: we take time to listen to our clients to have a detailed and accurate brief. Then we focus on creating a design solution that is properly individual.

This project brief was to refurbish the ground floor of a typical terraced house in Highbury, to create a contemporary family living space. The new open plan layout allows for a better use of space and circulation. The new kitchen has clean lines and creates a modern feel within the building, while retaining original features. What's more, light floods into the space thanks tothe use of materials and colours.
This project involved a new rear extension to a the existing semi detached house to provide a large kitchen. The secondary aim was to create a more useable garden. The new layout allows for better use of the garden through the double doors and the raised deck. The use of a large and strategically placed rooflight allows for light to flood into the main dining area. The project does it's environmental bit with the reuse of rainwater care for the garden.
