Bidadari Bumi (Angels on Earth) by Halimah Alaydrus
Most of us grew up idolizing famous figures – they can be actors, singers, politicians or anyone we came to know that plays a significant part in shaping our perceptions and lives. The book Angels on Earth by Halimah Alaydrus tells exactly how she as a young woman skimmed over the odds in an epic search for a divine role model.
Growing up listening to remarkable legacies of famous women in the Islamic History like the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) wife, Sayyida Khadijah, his daughter, Sayyida Fatma and many more; the writer never thought that her journey to Tareem, Yemen, will be the epiphanies of unexpected spiritual revelation when she met 9 celestial women – the angels on earth.
