05-10-10 - Scary Movie! - Murad has just completed production of his first horror film entitled The Widower. A collaborative effort with Mustafa Eshanzada, The Widower is a short horror film about a young man whose past haunts him. Literally! The Widower was created for the Universal Studios Horror Nights Film Contest in Hollywood, CA and will be submitted to numerous horror film contests around the U.S. The film made its theatrical premier at the Ultra Star Cinema in Riverside, CA on May 8, 2010. Check out The Widower Facebook page for more details. 12-15-09 - Filming in Jordan - Murad Aldin is back home in California after a long trip to the Middle East. While staying in Jordan, Murad had the opportunity to work with the Royal Film Commission of Jordan to produce and direct his first Arabic Language film. The film, a short thriller entitled Criminal Minds, was shot entirely on location in Al-Salt City in Jordan and will be released in the summer of 2010. Stay tuned for updates. 09-20-09 - Guidance - Murad Aldin teams up with Noor to create an amazing music video that is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also carries a deep spiritual message. Guidance, which is Noors second video from their album entitled All for You, was created from concept to completion entirely during the month of Ramadan 2009. This is not a typical music video. Incorporating both amazing visual effects and a powerful message, Guidance is sure to be a hit amongst the Muslim audience. Watch it online, or look for it to play on Iqra TV and ART America. About Murad
Murad Aldin Amayreh is a creative, passionate Muslim-American filmmaker whos vision is to create films that tell stories that provoke discussions and inspire positive change. Murad Aldin has been producing and directing films and videos for over six years and has established a solid network of partners across the U.S. and the world. As an advocate for social justice, Murad Aldins films focus on issues related to human rights and social awareness and have received numerous awards and international recognitions from both the film community and human-rights organizations.Murad Aldins projects include; documentaries, short films, music videos, TV Shows, online videos, and more. These projects are broadcast around the world on global satellite television stations and other online mediums, garnering millions of views. The son of Jordanian immigrants, and a native of southern California, Murad Aldins passion for story telling and activism came at a young age. Murad was a natural story teller as a child who would spend hours writing stories. Murad never stopped writing and graduated from writing short stories to writing and directing theatrical plays by high school. This talent carried on into college, where Murad initially majored in Political Science. Combining his passion for storytelling with his desire to work towards social justice, Murad began putting together plays with powerful social and political messages. Eventually Murads creative drive would lead him to change his career path. Having already created numerous award winning short films prior to even finishing school, Murad Aldin graduated from CSULA with a degree in TV/Film Production in 2006. Murads first documentary film Last Refuge explored the issue of detainment of Muslim American leaders in the years following the September 11th attacks. This film won best documentary at the Golden Eagle Film Festival in Los Angeles. Since then Murad produced and/or directed numerous award winning projects including American Ramadan which has aired numerous times on PBS and A Land Called Paradise which won the Link TV, One Nation, Grand Prize in 2008. In 2009, his film Can You Hear Me was also a finalist in the LInk TV competition. Murad is also the creator of the YouTube video sensation I AM A MUSLIM! which to date has reached close to 4 million viewers online and is one of the most discussed videos on YouTube. Murad has also begun to expand his creative capabilities by traveling to and directing films in the Middle East. Murad Aldin is currently working on a number of projects including a feature length documentary film exploring the issue of torture.When not working on a films, Murad enjoys spending time with his family including his wife of six years, practicing martial arts, and volunteering for local youth organizations. Murad is a passionate filmmaker who hopes to inspire positive change through his films.

Fahmi Farahat - Hailing from Saudi Arabia, Fahmi F. Farahat has been producing and directing films since 2003 and has worked on over 50 productions. Murad has collaborated with Farahat on multiple projects. Together the duo continue to create thought provoking films of amazing production quality.Al-Farouq Productions - Al-Farouk Productions is a media production service company based in the Arabian Gulf. Al-Farouks team is comprised of producers, directors, editors and designers among other technical advisors that are trained in the USA and based in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Syria, and Jordan, thus bridging the gap between film industries around the world. As a part of the team, Murad Aldin has a strong relationship with Al-Farouk Productions creating opportunies for middle east based productions. MAS Media Foundation - MAS Media Foundation is the division of the Muslim American Society (MAS) working as a grassroots movement to promote positive media contributions and seek active participation in the various forms of production. Murad helped to establish MMF from 2006-2008 and has collaborated with its volunteers on a number of projects. Royal Film Commission - The Royal Film Commission of Jordan is an organization that desires to work towards building a solid Jordanian film industry through education and training, productions services, and fostering film culture in Jordan. Their vision is to build in Jordan a world-class, cutting-edge film industry where all people of the Middle East can freely make films alongside the worlds most talented artists. Murad has already worked with the RFC to create two films in Jordan and plans on returning to the region with more ambitous projects. Ahmad Zahara - Ahmad Zahra is a producer and owner of Zahra Pictures. His film experience ranges from development and production to distribution in both independent and studio pictures. After several years with 20th Century Fox, Ahmad went on to found Zahra Pictures in response to a need in the film market for media that can bridge the gap between different cultures. Murad has worked Zahra Pictures on a few of their projects and Zahra is currently producing Murads upcoming documentary film entitled, "The Tortured". Envoy Film - ENVOYfilms is a film company that started, with a focus to educate and build bridges. It's first documentary, American Ramadan, which Murad acted as the Los Angeles Unit Producer/Director, has aired on over 50 PBS stations, and networks world-wide. Envoy films is always working on new and exciting documentaries and features. John Frost - Frost is a cinematographer whos keen eye has helped him to land projects on multiple major film productions, music videos, and commercial shoots. Frost has a way of understanding the desired look and going above and beyond to achieve the directors vision. John Frost has worked as the Director of Photography on many of Murads films and is Murads DP of choice on any given project. Alan Bloom - Professor, mentor, and friend of Murad Aldin, Alan Bloom is an educator specializing in film and video production in the TV/Film and Media Studies program at CSU Los Angeles. He has been a university professor for the last 37 years. Professor Bloom provided guidance and mentorship to Murad in his early years as a filmmaker and Murad continues to consult with him on nearly every project since. Rolla Selbek directs Three Veils. "Three Veils" is a film about three young Middle-Eastern women living in the U.S, each with her own personal story. As the film progresses, all three stories unfold and blend into each other as connections are revealed between the three women. Murad Aldin was brought onto the team to direct the behind the scenes documentary that allows audiences to see what it took to create such a passionate film with such dynamic characters and story. 07-06-09 - Can You Hear Me is a FINALIST in the Link TV One Nation Many Voices 2009 film contest. 03-16-09 - Murad Aldin featured in Muslim Screen Blog 01-30-09 - Lulus Curls - Fahmi Farahat and Murad Aldin team up again. This time to create the hilarious childrens film, Lulus Curls. Lulu plans to do anything to straighten her curls before the start of the most important time of her life - first grade. The 5-minute short, Produced by Murad Aldin and directed by Fahmi F. Farahat, features Arab-American comedian Aron Kader from Comedy Centrals Axis of Evil Tour, with music by composer Vicente Avella, whose credits include FOXs Family Guy and American Dad. The films characters are based on a childrens story by Saudi illustrator Heba Farahat. The film has received numerous awards and recognitions from children's film festivals around the country. That is the theme and the title of Murad Aldins latest film promoting everyone in the U.S. to take advantage of their right to vote. Murad Aldin teams up again with Mustafa Gatollari (I AM A MUSLIM!) to create this short comedy about a young Muslim American who learns the value of using his voice through voting... the hard way. This film is part of a larger campaign designed to encourage all Americans, and particularly Muslim Americans to participate in the 2008 elections. 09-27-08 - Can You Hear Me? - Fatima Elkabti, a young sociology student at the Claremont Colleges in California, received a grant from the Davis Project for Peace. With that grant she launched an international project that brought together children from different parts of the world through writing letters to one another. Through these letters the children shared their hopes and dreams, as well as their trials with one another. The idea was for the children to break through cultural barriers and realize that they have more in common than not. Through understanding and cooperation, they can accomplish the common goal of peace. Can You Hear me? is a music video shot as a metaphoric representation of Fatimas project. Produced by Fatima Elkabti and Fahmi Farahat, Murad Aldin tells the story of two children from different backgrounds who struggle to escape their prisons. They discover one another and learn that despite their differences they have a common goal... The video features music performed by the southern California based band, Project 26.06-30-08 - Voices for Change - As a filmmaker, Murad Aldin is not known for putting together live shows. But given the opportunity to work with worldwide music sensation Outlandish, he'll make an exception. During the summer of 2008, Murad Aldin was the production manager for a nationwide, five city concert tour featuring local musical acts from each city. Murad Aldin worked with Outlandish as well as local production teams from New York, Chicago, Tampa, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Dallas, to successfully put together a show that will not soon be forgotten by those in attendance. Murad will be back to making films, but this experience only broadened the scope of Murads creativity. This is what they said. Produced by Murad Aldin, music video featuring the music of renowned country singer Kareem Salama shows the human side of Muslim Americans using a unique and creative style. The production of this video was done with the help of the volunteers of the MAS Inland Empire Chapter and was a collaborative effort of three very talented filmmakers including Murad Aldin, Fahmi F. Farahat and Lena Khan. This video won Link TVs 2008 One Nation online film contest.11-30-07 - I AM A MUSLIM! Goes Viral - As part of a national tour of youth video workshops, Murad Aldin Amayreh along with the local MAS chapter of New Jersey put together a short public service announcement entitled I am a Muslim!. This 2 minute video featuring Mustafa Gatollari and Produced and Directed by Murad, was posted onto youtube and shortly after, went viral receiving over a quarter million views. While the video did create some controversy, most viewers felt the video was both entertaining and informative. Someone at the youtube staff agreed and within weeks was featured on the front page of youtube. The video spread like wildfire and sparked dialogues and discussions which continue until today. To date the video has been viewed online almost 4,000,000 and is one of the 10 most talked about videos on youtube. 11-15-06 - American Ramadan hits the film festival circuit - On top of airing on PBS and various networks around the US, the feature length documentary was chosen as an official selection at the following film festivals.
