Mu Kappa Tau is the student marketing organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We are dedicated to providing undergraduate students with information and experiences that will prepare them for successful careers in marketing.
Though MKT is primarily a marketing organization, we encourage anyone interested in learning more about marketing to join us. Why join MKT?

Requirements to Apply:
1) Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher
2) Completion of General Member Application
3) Payment of Membership Fee
-Academic Year (Turned in by 9/22): $60
-Academic Year (Turned in by 9/28): $70
-One Semester (Turned in by 9/28): $40

COMMITTEES Committees are specialized groups within MKT that serve as a great way for members to become more involved. Committees work with the executive board to plan and coordinate MKT's activities. Committees offer members opportunities to interact with professionals on a frequent basis. To apply for a committee, turn in the committee application form with your general member application (no later than 9/28).

Consulting

Aaron Kaufman (arkaufman_wisc.edu)
Provide marketing guidance and assistance to small businesses in Madison, so that these businesses are able to reach their marketing objectives. Gives consulting members a hands on experience in applying their marketing knowledge to reach these set out objectives. Past semester projects have included: developing a marketing strategy, establishing new distribution channels, promoting brand awareness and brand preference, implementing promotional events, and exploring different uses of media outlets for advertising. Past companies included Acclaim Energy Drink, Community Car, and Flat Cola.
Sales and Promotions

Sets up Bspot Sales by selling Wisconsin School of Business
merchandise in order to raise funds for MKT. This involves designing, ordering, pricing, and keeping track of the merchandise. Committee also works on coming up with new fundraising ideas each semester. Past fundraising ventures include selling universal remotes and organizing restaurant fundraising events.
Fund Administrator
Director: Matt McMichael (mmcmichael_wisc.edu)
The Fund Administrator maintains the entire MKT Budget as well as individual committee budgets.
Networking Events

Works to foster relationships with prospective companies while maintaining strong relationships with current partner organizations. They are responsible for staying connecting to professional contacts in order to plan and implement professional speaker events as well as networking events. The committee recruits reputable companies to speak on campus to allow MKT members the opportunity to learn about various industries, careers, applied marketing topics, and the possibilities for internships or full-time positions. The committee also plans social events and activities to encourage member interaction outside of the classroom.
Community Service
Director: Alex Lockwood (ajlockwood_wisc.edu)
The community service committee works to provide services to the university and Madison Area by donating our time and services. We help with local community events like working with the Henry Vilas Zoo and Red Cross. We also arrange and run events for students on campus and with other student organizations. Some of our past events have included Toys for Tots, the Polar Plunge, Fall Clean-Ups, and Food Drives. A great way to get involved on campus through supporting the community!
Member Relations
Director: Neil Fitch (nfitch_wisc.edu)
Responsible for communication and information retention within MKT. In addition to sending out weekly member updates, member relations manages MKT's website, social media pages, and it's student organization board in Grainger Hall. Member Relations is also responsible for tracking membership requirements, updating the alumni database, and manages the document web archive.

Amber Epp is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Madisons School of Business. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research focuses on understanding collective phenomenon including the interplay of family and relational identities, collective goals, network agency, and group decision-making. Her work has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing, and she has co-authored book chapters on qualitative data analysis and family behavior. Professor Epps dissertation received the inaugural Sidney J. Levy Award for outstanding Consumer Culture Theory research, and her recent research on how to maintain brand loyalty when life is practiced across distances and through technologies has been funded by the Marketing Science Institute. Amber currently teaches Consumer Behavior at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. In addition, she has taught Services Marketing, Marketing Management, and Honors Introductory Marketing.

Lisa Collins
Co-Advisor, Business Career Center
Lisa is the Associate Director of Advising and Career Planning in the School of Business Career Center (BCC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been there since March 1997. Lisas primary role is to provide career assistance to students interested in careers in actuarial science, marketing, operations technology management, supply chain management and those in the Business Scholars program. In addition to her advising and programming responsibilities, Lisa teaches the Fundamentals of Career Planning course (General Business 365), assists with the General Business 450 and 451 courses, is Chair of the BBA Awards Committee, and serves as advisor to Student Faculty Board.
Lisa is an alum of the Wisconsin School of Business having received her Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees both in Marketing. She worked in industry for 10 years in various marketing roles.. Lisa began her marketing career as a Sales Analyst for Verex Assurance in Madison.

She then went on to become a Business Systems Analyst for CUNA & Affiliates and was promoted to Product Administrator. After working for CUNA, Lisa became a Product Specialist for SYCOM in Madison and managed the $4.6 million Records Management product line. Lisa then became Magna Publications Marketing Director of their higher education newsletters before returning to the UW.
Lisa is a member of the American Marketing Association and is also a wedding coordinator.
