The Album
Guilty Pleasure is the second studio album released by Ashley Tisdale via Warner Bros. Records. It was originally scheduled for a worldwide release on June 16, 2009 but Warner decided to push back the release in North America to July 28.
Ashley described the album as a way to show the world she has grown up. She also stated these songs have a message and a story that anyone can relate to. When asked about why the album was titled "Guilty Pleasure", Ashley said it was because of her own guilty pleasures such as Coffee Bean and reading Perez Hilton's blog. Unlike her first album, Headstrong, shehopes to show off her "edgier" side with more mature songs, leaving behind the pop and R&B songs. Tisdale co-wrote five songs for the album.
The lead single off the album is the track "It's Alright, It's OK". It was released on April 14, 2009 in the United States in both airplay and digital formats. "I love break-up songs," Ashley admits during the press release of the single. She described the song as a message she wanted to get across the other people.
The album was listed as the 7th Best Album of 2009 by Billboard's readers, as well the 7th Best Album of the Decade (2000-2009).
