ARTIST INFORMATION
EXHIBITIONS
"A common theme of nostalgic longing and impossibility of return underpins a body of work that is continually yearning for utopia in the face of a Ballardian-esque dystopian reality".
Conventional medium format photography, digital 35mm photography, illustration, painting and sculptural construct along with occasional found objects, are all utilised as the work and its focus demands.
Recent works have used near-infrared film photography as vehicle for interrogating the state of decay.
New work is returning to painting and a recurring motif of a longing for a past that has not been directly experienced.
Revisiting photorealism and its position as litmus for a pre-digital age, explores its value as metaphor for the impossibility of societal perfection.
