Original Works Magnet Project: Birds
4th graders studied birds for their magnet project this year. We started by discussing the body parts and how to draw each part. Then they practiced drawing many different birds. After choosing their favorite, students drew it on small paper, traced the lines with oil pastels, then painted then in with tempera paint. The students chose colors that create contrast so that the subject would show up.
