Original Works Magnet Project: Underwater Scene
Freys third grade students made underwater scenes. The first thing they did was use cool colors to paint the background using a painting technique called wet on wet. This makes the paint run together and look watery. The next thing they did was learn about fish body parts and practice drawing fish. They then chose their best fish and used colored paper to collage the final picture. Collage is when you cut paper apart and put it back together in a new way. they then learned how to overlap the paper to create the illusion of depth. The end result is an underwater scene that looks fabulous!
