Born and raised in the D.C. Metro Area, Deyane Moses always had an interest in the visual arts. She joined the military in March of 2006 to become a Broadcast Journalist. Since then she has won numerous awards both within and outside of the military for her work. But Deyane soon found room for another love, after her father gave her a Nikon DSLR camera for Christmas in 2009. She began teaching herself photography and learning from friends who were also interested in the field. When she returned home from her 3 year deployment to Korea, she began taking pictures of the inner city, close friends, and family members. That's where Deyane really began honing her skills. Family and friends began to notice her work was "above average" for a beginner and suggested she turn her hobby into something more ... AND THE REST IS BASICALLLY HISTORY!!! She started "MoePho" and ventured out from there. Her photography hobby has grown from a idea to a professional business with a wide range of clients and friends. Deyane has worked with models, children, families, hairstylists, and makeup-artists in the DC Metro Area. One of her photos was featured in Foto Week D.C.'s Night Visions 2011 Gallery. She was also a finalist in the 2011 Photo Works Photo Slam Competition. Deyane plans on pursuing her love for photography forever. She wants = to capture the world as she see it ... everything from weddings and children to models and runways. She hopes to become managed with a PR Firm in the future and have her work featured in local magazines and websites. Deyane is currently an Active Duty Soldier working at the Pentagon Channel in Fort Meade, MD. "Inspiration is contagious." -- Unknown

11.15.2011Pics from my recent Baltimore Shoot are now up! A special thanks to Drea for working!! It she's going to go far!!!11.08.2011The vintage photo shoot was amazing. Who would have thought strangers who met on Craigslist could make something so beautiful. LOL! Check out the pics in the gallery; as well as some photos that didn't make the cut on Flickr. I recently participated in the Foto Week DC 2011. I entered their "Night Visions" competition and Photo Slam. "Night Visions is where you take pictures all night and accomplished photographer judge you best photos from the night, select one, then print it on a wall as a live gallery. It was a really cool idea as well as a awesome opportunity for me to learn and get feedback. Photo Slam is a competition where you submit a series of photographs and your photos are judge by and audience as well as accomplished photographers in DC. I did not win that competition; but I did learn a lot. I'll be sure to knock them dead next year. I have a lot of shoots going on now through the rest of the year.
