My name is Matt Holmes, I became interested in photography at the age of 14 when I was at 'Scouts' - Our leader gave us a 35mm camera and a roll of black and white film, then sent us away to take some photos. The following week we came back and developed our film in the Scout kitchen with an enlarger, developer, stop and fix!!!
Then I moved onto digital photography and learning the in's and out's of Adobe Photoshop.
After my GCSE's I studied Photography, Media Studies and Product Design at A-Level, then moved on to Staffordshire University to study for a BSc (Hons) Degree in 'Film Production Technology', which I completed very recently (May 2010).
Although I still love photography, I am keen to work in the television industry as a lighting cameraman, because it combines my passions of photography and filming. But at this very early stage in my career I am happy to work in any area of this exciting and fascinating industry.
I have had a fair amount of experience of the television industry, including working on programs for Channel 4 (The Home Show and Come Dine With Me), ITV 1 (60 Minute Makeover), BBC (The Great North Run, Blue Peter and BBC News) and Sky Sports.
I am hard working, enthusiastic young person and am available as a Camera Assistant and/or a DV camera operator. I use a Canon XH A1s camcorder which can shoot in either HDV or DV.
I currently work at the BBC in Nottingham, for the regional news program 'East Midlands Today'. I began as a studio camera operator, and I now work in the news room, as well as doing a few studio camera shifts. It's a fascinating industry and I thoroughly enjoy working at the BBC and being part of such a great team of people.

Do you have old (or new) slides or negatives that you would like preserving in the digital form? Over time slides and negatives slowly deteriorate, especially if they have been stored in cold damp areas.
We offer a service to ensure that the precious memories stored on these slides and negatives of yours, are transferred into the digital format as JPEG files, that can be printed, emailed, copied to a computer, incorporated into a document, or even adjusted in software such as Photoshop. The possibilities are endless.
We can also produce a slideshow of your pictures to allow you to view them on your television through your DVD player - A wonderful gift or souvenir.
