Missy Mao Mao bags were designed and made by Marilyn Cardinal under the label "Marilyn" for more than 12 years. Marilyn , who trained in fine arts, worked in a number of community organisations before developing the Missy Mao Mao bag range.
My name
Missy Mao Mao is the nick name of Marilyn's cat Lucinda.
My Design philosophy
Simple and practical. Easy to use. Easy to wear. Able to be used by all ages.
Handcrafted with care and designed with integrity.
My Inspiration
Lovely designed fabrics from all over the world, women and their traditional crafts.
Colour and the history of art and culture.
My production
The bags are produced in a studio. Missy Mao Mao does not support sweat shop labour. All the bags are hand crafted using an old industrial sewing machine. In 2010 Marilyn's studio will be powered by a solar assisted system.

Visit her at the Arts Centre Melbourne Sunday Market
Open Sundays between 10 am and 4 pm. Just up the road from Flinders Street Station along St Kilda Road. Find Missy at the back of the market near Hamer Hall.
